Last week I spent five glorious days in Las Vegas. While a lot of people claim that a couple of nights in Sin City is more than enough, I couldn’t disagree more! I had a great time and could have stayed for a month! I’ll be writing all about my trip in epic detail soon (including sharing all about the David Copperfield and Britney Spears shows – both were incredible!) If you’re planning to marry or honeymoon in Vegas you are in for a treat.
To whet your appetite, here’s a silly little holiday video we made of our adventures. Yes, we danced a LOT!
Aww we had so much fun! Right now, I’m back in my office, catching up with approximately 10364 emails, making plans for issue 3 of the magazine (gosh it comes round so fast!) and planning some fun DIY projects which I’ll be sharing on the blog over the coming months. IT’S ALL GOOD.
Talking of the magazine, have you got issue 2 yet? What do you think? I’d love to see some selfies of you with it on Instagram and Twitter. Make sure you tag me (@RocknRollBride) in the photo and there are extra bonus points for any with puppies in… after all there are cute canines on the cover (surely that’s got to be a wedding magazine first?) My favourites will be published in the next issue which is out in May.
I have so much internet-ty goodness for your this week, so grab a cuppa (I’m drinking mine out of my new flamingo mug!) and dive in!
Hey beautiful! This update comes to you from a very sunny, very lovely Venice Beach. Try not to hate me too much, I am here working – I promise!
This weekend sees the first live Blogcademy workshop of the year and I can’t wait. We’ve got a cute venue, some awesome décor items (perfect for Instagrammin’) from Touch of Magic and 20 eager beavers ready to learn all about blogging. If you’re a bit of a last minute Larry and you’d like to come along we can still fit you in. This is our only US class until September so if you’re considering learning with us in-person, hop to it.
This week has been a BUSY one. I’ve been here there and everywhere (not to mention flying across the world!) so this week’s Thursday Treats is a bit on the lighter side. But everything in here is worth a click so I hope you enjoy it regardless!
Have a great weekend everyone. I love you all endlessly.
It’s hard to believe that this time next week I’ll be in LA where it’s currently 25 degrees Celsius! I’m there to teach the first Blogcademy workshop of the year and we’re staying right by the beach which is just what my sun-starved skin needs right now!
After the class, we’ve decided to head to to Vegas for a few days. Last year was a biggie in Blogcademy and Rock n Roll Bride-land, so it’s a well deserved treat. Gala, Shauna and I actually only came together as a trio for the first time in Vegas in 2012 so going back there together is going to be like a glorious full circle. And even though none of us like to gamble or party very hard (a glass of wine whilst rocking our PJs in our hotel room is much more our style!) Vegas is still one of my favourite places the three of us have hung out. Plus this time we’re going to see magicians… and Britney!
As usual while I’m travelling, the blog will still be updated at least once a day so keep popping back to get your wedding fix. Oh, and issue 2 of the print magazine hits the shelves on March 5th (it will also be available via my shop page) so be sure put that date in your diary too!
A little sneaky preview of one of the real wedding spreads inside issue 2!
It’s come around so damn quickly but today I’m off to see “the book” (I’m sooo The Devil Wears Prada right now) and to sign off issue 2 of the magazine! I have to say, I think this second edition might be even better than the first. I had to write and pull together issue 1 really quickly, so having a bit more time to really make things perfect was such a treat!
And the cover! Oh my goodness, just you wait until you see it! I can’t share it just yet but have one word for you… puppies!
The second edition hits the shelves of WhSmiths, Morrisons and independent newsagents on March 5th and it will also be available to order online on the same day. As issue 1 sold out for online orders in less than 72 hours I’d also suggest setting a reminder in your calender, I’d hate for you to miss out again! Alternatively you can skip the queue and treat yourself to a subscription! Not long now…
Another month has come and gone and we’re now heading head-first into February. January was a particularly epic month for me with the launch of the print magazine and The Blogcademy Online!! While tooting my own horn might be terribly embarrassing, I do have to say that I am so incredibly proud of how both these ventures have been received. I’ve worked my little bloggy butt off over the past few months on them both, and so seeing the amazing reaction from you all about them is quite amazing!
In other news, this week has been a great one! Last weekend I spoke at the blogger’s event at London Edge. It was super fun to meet some new bloggers, none of which were in the wedding industry, and to be exposed to a completely different kind of event. There wasn’t a wedding dress in sight!
But that all changed on Wednesday because I went full throttle into maid of honour duties with my bestie from Uni, who’s getting hitched in November. We went dress shopping and I’m not revealing anything but we might have just found ‘the one’! It’s all very exciting!
In other news, I’m speaking in Brighton at Making Positive Changes next Wednesday (11th), so if you fancy coming along, having a cheeky drink and hearing me gas for a couple of hours, I’d love to see you there!
Okey doke, are you ready for another instalment of Thursday Treats? I missed it last week because of the launch of The Blogcademy Online so this one is a biggie! You might want to grab yourself an extra large cup of tea…
In just one week’s time, The Blogcademy Online launches and I am beyond thrilled about it! For those of you that don’t know, The Blogcademy is the in-person blogging and business workshop that I’ve been hosting with my friends (and blogging superstars!) Gala Darling and Shauna Haider since 2012. We’ve taught nearly 1000 people on several continents since then and next week we are making the course available online for anyone who can’t, or doesn’t want to, attend a live event. It’s going to be an astronomically exciting day!
To get you warmed up, we’ve released three educational videos over the past three Thursdays and you can watch them all right now for absolutely dilly squat! My video, Ten Lessons All Bloggers Should Learn, went up two weeks ago, Gala’s on how to make your blog charismatic went live last week, and today Shauna’s on creating a blogging business plan (which is actually a preview of one of the segments in the course itself) is available for your viewing pleasure.
To watch the videos, simply zip over to theblogcademy.com/online, scroll down, log in using your Facebook account and click play!
If you’re interested in The Blogcademy Online, you should definitely sign up to our mailing list (put your name and email address in where it says “Get our top secret blogging resources” on the front page of our site) because everyone that does will receive a discount code to use on the course when it becomes available next week.
