I've been dreading it for months, but today I woke up a thirty year old. I almost can't believe it! It's true what they say though, time sure does fly when you're having fun! It feels like just yesterday that I met Gareth (aged 17), we started dating (aged 18), we got married (24), I started this blog (24), I produced a print magazine (27), we launched The Blogcademy (28) and I designed my first headpiece collection (29) ..! Needless to say I'm pretty damn proud of how much I've achieved so far.

Of all the projects and various off-shoots that I've taken on, none of them are as close to my heart as the print magazine. What started life as a 14 page brochure to hand out at a wedding show has now become an annually produced 84 page beast and a massive part of Rock n Roll Bride. In interviews, it's always the first thing people want to know about - How did it come about? What's inside? Where do I find the time to do it?

From Reading to Santorini to Mykonos to London (where we taught two back-to-back workshops no less, what were we thinking?!) Gala, Shauna and I haven't had much time to rest, but we've had the time of our lives in the process.

Happy Sunday you beautiful creatures! I wanted to pop by today to just say a huge thank you and to share some love for everyone who's ordered, instagrammed or blogged about my little headpiece collection. Sophie and I have been BLOWN AWAY by the response - so much so that the day we launched was Crown and Glory's biggest day for orders EVER and in the first few days alone she used over 12,000 gems making all the pieces that had been purchased. WHOA!

Goodness! Who would have thought that launching a magazine to compliment this little blog of mine would have been such a runaway success? Ever since we published issue 2 of this yearly magazine, waaaaay back in August last year, the orders have been coming in daily. Gareth, who packs and ships every single one by hand, has been a busy bee for sure, and a regular fixture at our local Post Office! He’s obviously been doing his job pretty damn well too, because he told me this week that issue two is now officially sold out. Whoa.

I love old film cameras. There's something so innocently wonderful about having a tangible and imperfect photograph to hold in your hand. In this hyper digital age, I think we've all been so quick to forget that unadulterated joy of taking your rolls of 35mm to the developers and waiting with baited breath to get the prints. They didn't always turn out, but that was weirdly part of the appeal. When you did get that one perfect shot, without previews on the back of the camera or Photoshop wizardry to help, it was utterly magnificent.

I've actually never flown long-haul solo before so I'm excited but also a little bit nervous about the whole thing. I'm sure most of your will already know this, but last Summer we published issue two of our print magazine. Since then, and every day with out fail, my poor suffering Gareth has been packing and shipping each copy that's been ordered - by hand. There's no fancy behind the scenes action in our operation believe you me. He's become quite the regular feature in our local post office. I wonder if they take bets about what he's sending out in those shiny pink envelopes with such regularity.
