A Sunday Kind of Love – Cutture

Kat

August 15, 2010

Hum..this week has been pretty awesome and I've met so many amazing people at my little party so how on earth do I choose just one of you for my loving this week? Well simply because their work is amazing, unique and inspiring, and you need to know about them, I'm going to nominate the awesome Cutture. They make custom, laser-cut stationary and quite frankly I've never seen anything like it! They even have a range made out of perspex!

A Sunday Kind of Love – You Lot!

Kat

August 8, 2010

Warning: Overly gushing post ahead When I started thinking about this week’s Sunday Kind of Love post there was really only one group of people I could devote it to---you lot!! Seriously, I’m actually feeling a little bit emotional as I write this. I’ve just been reading though all your survey responses and all the LOVELY things you’ve said about me and my little blog. I literally don’t have the words to express how awesome you guys are and how much love is filling my little pink heart right now. Thank you so much for being you. Thank you so much for being individuals. Thank you so much for wanting to do things your own way. Thank you so much for loving what I do. Thank you so much for reading what I have to say and for saying such gushing things about me and Rock n Roll Bride.

A Sunday Kind of Love – You’re Invited to a Rock n Roll Party!

Kat

August 1, 2010

On Wednesday 11th August 2010, a carefully selected bar in Central London (for it's cocktail making ability) will play host to a large rabble of Rock n Roll Bride readers and a fabulous bunch of photographers, bloggers, make up artists, wedding planners and in fact any kind of wedding professional you can think of! The invite is open to all wedding industry professionals (this one is not really for brides to be - us hard working wedding people need a night off!) There will be cocktails (lots of cocktails) cupcakes (oh yes!) and sparkle a-plenty but need you to come too! Without you guys I will be sat there on my own...wearing a tiara looking like a sad pink haired loner. Don't make that happen to me - come party with me instead!

A Sunday Kind of Love – Blood Brothers Tattoo Studio, Mike Harris & Al Overdrive

Kat

June 27, 2010

OK, so I'm so bloomin' impatient. My sleeve tattoo technically isn't finished yet (I've got another 4 hours or so to go in 4 weeks time - I'm adding some more colour to the background and some more cupcakes and diamonds - yum) but I've waited 2 weeks already to share these pictures and I can't do it anymore! At my last session at the amazing Blood Brothers Tattoo Studios in Holloway Rd, London, photographer Al Overdrive offered to pop down and take a few photographs of me in pain/being brave/getting inked. Al won Tattoo Photographer of the Year this year and is pretty well known in the music and tattoo photography market, shooting for magazine like Skin Deep, Tattoo Master, Rock Sound and Terrorizer as well as shooting some pretty damn cool alternative weddings.

A Sunday Kind of Love – My Daddy

Kat

June 20, 2010

I've been struggling to think how I could possibly top last week's Sunday Kind of Love - Jasmine Star & Being Free to Succeed post. After wrestling with trying to 'go one better' this week I forgot what this Sunday is all about. Daddy's. So Happy Father's Day Dad. I sent a card...I hope you get it on time! Sorry I don't get to see you as much as we'd like. Life always gets in the way. This Sunday is dedicated to the Dad's all over the world. Make sure you tell yours that you love him.

A Sunday Kind of Love – Jasmine Star & Being Free to Succeed

Kat

June 13, 2010

I've never been one to be really into seminars or motivational speakers or anything. I'm easily bored and find it way to easy to go "Well yeah yeah but that doesn't apply to me or what I'm doing." It basically takes a lot to really make me sit up and take notice. However I came across this teaser video to a photography seminar held by Jasmine Star who is widely regarded as one of the 'rock star photographers' in America. The seminar was called 'Free to Succeed' as Jasmine's presentation was about branding at it's importance to your business. The talk was aimed at photographers but I decided to give it a watch after seeing people rave about it on flickr, and OMG am I glad I did. I don't say this lightly but I really feel that my life, my outlook on my blog and it's branding has changed. Forever. This may sound over dramatic but I have never felt more motivated, empowered and excited about what I have to do. I can't even begin to do justice to what Jasmine says by paraphrasing her presentation but just watch it watch it watch it! If you're a photographer, a blogger or anyone trying to start your own business WATCH IT. She talks about being yourself and being true to yourself (something I of course am a strong advocate of!) and about how to work out what makes you special and how you should bring this into your business, and that how being yourself is what will bring you success.

So I'm going to pick something a little bit random but something I know you'll enjoy! I had a total Tatty Devine fest. this week and I am in utter love with my new purchases. May 30, 2010

I wanted to start this week's post with a huge thank you to every single one of you for your kind words and comments on my 'How to...not be a blogging pushover' post. To everyone that stuck up for me and shared your love and passion for my little website - well wow, I've literally been blown away. I decided to share this story with you today because I think it can only add further proof of my love of all my sponsors, of how they make my world go round and of my genuine feelings towards them (and theirs to me it would seem!) UK photographer Lisa Devlin has been a sponsor of Rock n Roll Bride for the past few months. Not only has this got her many a Rock n Roll wedding booking, but it has provided me with more eye candy to blog than I could ask for! With Lisa's approval I wanted to share this card I received in the post this week. She also send me a little bag of treats including a Tatty Devine necklace! She knows me so well!

Because without him I am nothing. becauseI love him more than life itself. Because he cheers me when I am blue and helps me out when I need it. Because he is a man with feelings. Because he love pussy cats just as much as me. Because he is an uber geek. Because he helps out behind the scenes of Rock n Roll Bride for no other reason than that he loves me and is proud of me. Because he is my best friend and I need him to live. Because I don't always show my appreciation and he always forgives me.

A Sunday Kind of Love ~ Julia Boggio

Kat

May 2, 2010

Behold - a new feature! From the various emails, tweets comments I've received over the last few months I've come to the conclusion that you love regular posts - in particular Thursday Treats and I love writing them so I thought I'd try to do a few more... I was lucky enough to be invited to Julia Boggio's grand studio opening (full report and exclusive piccies coming soon!) on Thursday and after much schmoozing with the glitterati of the British wedding industry I came to realise that I know so many amazing, talented and generally fabulous people here and all over the world. My plan is that every Sunday I'm going to share with you someone who's been particularly fabulous to me that week or someone who's work has blown me away. It's my way of saying 'I heart you' as well as hopefully letting you know about some people you might not have heard of before. I hope you can put them all to good use in your own weddings. I also hope this feature will be a popular one as I know a lot of awesome people and I'd like to be able to share them all with you!
