I’ve branded this the ‘Quadrophenia wedding’ because of all the fabulous retro British details. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside to be English doesn’t it?

The couple embarked in a lot of diy to make it all super personal and everything from the pub they held it in being called The Britannia to the pork pie ‘cake’; from the Vivienne Westwood shoes (a national treasure in my eyes!) to the red, white a blue throughout were put together to make their theme perfect. The bunting had a union jack vibe, the table plans were quintsentially British themed and the guests were even transported in a open top double decker routemaster red bus.

The day was rounded off by traditional English games including an egg and spoon race and a impromptu kick around with a rugby ball!

Jackie & John’s massively colour-filled wedding makes my heart sing with joy. Any couple who can’t settle on one colour scheme and go for all the colours is awesome in my book. Those bridesmaids – oh yes!

The wedding took place at 21c Museum Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky – an art gallery space that is quite minimalist so not to take away from the art on the walls. The couple let the venue do what it does best and didn’t worry about adding their own decorations. “Decor was not a big priority to us because I respected the venue’s integrity on it’s own” Jackie told me. ”I’m an art history major so it was great to find a venue that reflected that. Plus, 99% of our guests were from out of town, so it was nice to have everything – the ceremony, reception and after party – all under one roof. Everyone partied until they had to cut the band off and then simply staggered upstairs to bed. More than a few out of town guests thanked us for that. I can not speak highly enough of the staff there. We had taken our party upstairs to a couple of hotel rooms and the hotel was getting a couple noise complaints, but instead of telling us to keep it quiet and kill the party, they opened up a meeting room space down in the basement and let us bring our own food, drinks and iPod speakers in and stay as late as we want. My husband and I finally crawled away to our room at 3:30 am or so but I’m told people were in the meeting room until well past sunrise.”

I was blown away by Carla & Neetling’s South African wedding, in particular the phenomenal DIY vintagey, rustic and natural details and her beautiful dress. Carla and her Mum did most of the wedding themselves and loved personalising all the details.

The wedding took place at Kleinevalleij, Wellington SA and Carla looked stunning in her Robyn Roberts dress, Ninon Louw shoes and awesome white lace tights!

I have quite literally died and gone to vintage wedding heaven. This is one of those shoots, that as soon as I saw just one little sneak peak, I emailed the photographer right. that. second to demand to be able to feature them! The ever lovely Lisa of Ophelia Photography was of course more than willing to allow me to have my way with these, and boy am I excited to share. All you lovers of vintage fare are going to go just gaga.

Perched on top of stone angel in a Vintage Wedding Gown and a crown of baby pink flowers, Corrie is slipping, almost falling.  But that doesn’t compromise her poise; she tries a funny face (very Audrey Hepburn)surprise and a cool couture profile as she lengthens her leg just so.   I hold my breath and click my camera following her lead, she is pure magic.

Paul & Jess’ wedding was a stylish affair of rockin’ proportions. They both looked every bit the Rock n Roll couple for their Spring Lake, New Jersey nuptials…with a little help from their friends & families! Jess explains:

When we decided to keep our anniversary as our official wedding date we were just about mid-stride in working on the party at the Breakers.  I have to admit that planning for the first ceremony was pretty far from my mind.  Paul and I chose our wardrobe based basically on matching each other like we do all the time.  I bought a really beautiful black/tan dress, red shoes from shoes.com and Paul picked up a tie to match his black & tan Nike SBs from Richmond Hood. We figured we had the whole thing in the bag.
