Captivating

I love it when people send me their own weddings – it makes me feel like a real wedding blogger and not like I’m just sat here doing this all on my own (hey people are actually reading my blog!?)

Anyway, Kasey sent me these photographs or her wedding and asked if I liked them to email her and she’d send me more details for the blog….erm excuse me? What’s not to like? How stunning is this girl!?

The couple wanted a vintage/modern/earthy feel to the wedding, so Kasey picked teal and orange as their colour palate. Their venue was Hickory Street Annex in Texas, and Kasey said she absolutely fell in love with this venue the first time she saw it.

The dress was found at Patsy’s Bridal, and originaly had long lace sleeves, but it wasn’t exactly what she wanted and it didn’t fit perfectly, nevertheless with some vision and creativity in mind, Kasey bought the dress on the spot, took it to an alterations lady, and she worked her magic. They cut the sleeves off, added in some boning, and viola! It was exactly what she had imagined it to be!

The couple saved the pennies (or should that be cents) by going diy. A friend did their engagement shots, the dress was a bargain (Claire Pettibone),they bought in their own alcohol (always a MASSIVE money saver!) and used an up and coming photographer. Kasey also designed and printed her own invitations and programs ( as did we, and I loved it!)

Beachy Bride

I was just browsing through some old files of mine for some research I’m doing (watch this space!) and I rediscovered this fabulous wedding!  This was one of my most favourite finds when I was planning our own wedding so I must share.

It’s beachy, it’s diy, it’s relaxed, it’s vintagey, its fun – I fell in love with the parasols, the flowers, the cake, the cake topper and the cheeky couple.

The Bride’s Knot Site also had some great diy tips and step by step instructions on how they did stuff – definitely worth checking out

Simply Bloom

Tracey and Vandiver’s wedding is gorgeous – not least because of the stunning antiquey styled photography of Simply Bloom.  Isn’t it stunning? I only wish I had more photographs of this amazing looking day to share but you’ll have to make do with these for now.

The Most Amazing Table EVER

Yes, its another vintage inspired wedding but omg seriously you will forgive me when you check out these stunning photographs!

Lisa Vorce of Oh How Charming! collaborated with Elizabeth, the Bride to design the stunning table in the gorgeous outdoor space.  They used thirty chandeliers, both new and antique, which illuminated the villa-style terrace.

They also used a custom-made 40-foot velvet runner, linen-backed menus and platinum banded chargers to decorate the long table. The linen chair cushions were trimmed with delicate blue velvet piping, matching the simple yet stunning fondant decorated cake.  The whole look is so decedent yet so eclectic…that’s why I love it so.  I wish my house was decorated just like this table!
