Established in 2004 by graphic designers Jennifer Tatham and Alan Henderson, Night Owl Paper Goods is a company dedicated to creating handmade letterpress cards and eco-chic wooden goodies in a style they like to call ‘modern yet folksy.’  ”We are very fortunate to have created a company and product line that combines everything we love,” they told me. “Design + printing + writing + paper + wood + nature + the environment + friends + family. What a hoot!”

Each piece is custom printed on sustainably-harvested birch wood. The envelopes they use are recycled and contain 30-100% post-consumer waste and all their products are handmade in USA. So, whether you’re taking steps towards creating a green wedding or you’re looking to set yourself apart from the crowd, nothing makes a statement like real wood wedding stationery. Their products are quite simply perfect for the eco-conscious Rock n Roll Bride!

“At Night Owl Paper Goods we offer a large selection of wedding invitations, save the dates, reply cards, reception pieces, guest gifts and more, all created from eco-friendly, sustainably-harvested birch wood”, they continue. “From modern to vintage to woodlands to tropical, we offer a breadth of styles and designs to help you express your unique personality and wedding theme. You can view all of our selections and information in the Wedding Suites category of our online stationery shop.”

Today I’m chatting to a photographer whose style is classically elegant with a fashion-led twist. Nick Tucker’s unobtrusive ethos would be the perfect accompaniment to a really awesome and and Rock n Roll wedding and I just know he’d capture it in the way it truly deserves to be shown. I am a great believer that wedding photography should be beautiful and classic (as well as awesome of course!) It should echo the mood and feeling of the day and not dictate the the day in any way.

Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Nick Tucker and I’m a wedding photojournalist.

Where are you based and what cities/countries are you available to for work in?
I’m based in East London, but I’m more than happy to travel pretty much anywhere for the right wedding.  Just recently I shot a wedding in Sicily.

Who/what are your biggest influences? Who do you really admire?
The list of photographers I admire is pretty vast.  Henri Cartier Bresson, of course.  Diane Arbus.  Nan Goldin.  Steve McCurry.  Helmut Newton.  All very different, but all with very distinctive styles that really bring out the personalities of their subjects.

Today I wanted to introduce you to a Yvette Craig Photography, a photographer from Kent, who loves to travel (and would love to travel to capture your wedding!) and who has a very classic, elegant and almost fine art style.

Who are you and what do you do?
I am Yvette Craig and I am a wedding and portrait photographer, and my aim is to capture you in a classical, timeless style.

Where are you based and what cities/countries are you available to for work in?
I am based in Kent, however I cover weddings anywhere in the World! In 2007 I photographed a wedding in Cuba, then in 2008 I was booked by a Canadian couple who could not find what they were looking for locally and therefore booked me to photograph their wedding in Stratford, Ontario and then this year (2010) I photographed a wedding in Dominican Republic. I have also just been booked to photograph a wedding in Brisbane Australia in 2011. I am happy to travel anywhere in the UK also and this year I have weddings in Nottinghamshire, Hampshire as well as the home counties.

As you begin planning your wedding, one of the first things you’ll be thinking about (after the dress of course!) is the invitations. They’re the first thing your guests will see in relation to your wedding and the perfect invitations will set the tone, theme and vibe of your Rock n Roll wedding day. It’s my pleasure to introduce to you today one of the UKs latest and greatest invitation designers on the block, Amma of Beyond Beyond. Enjoy!

Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Amma, and I am an invitation designer, graphic designer and web designer.

Where are you based and where in the world can you send your work?

I am based in London, but as long as you are in a country where you can get UPS I can send your invitations to you; I might not travel, but the invitations will.  And if someone wants a wedding website then I don’t have to send anything at all! Well, nothing except for the link.

Can you tell me a little about the process of your custom design service?

Generally, I like to have a face to face meetings, but when time or distance makes it impossible then the telephone and email are my friends.  When it comes to wedding stationery it is important for me to communicate with the couple so that I can get a sense of their personal aesthetic.  This ensures that what I create is both personal and unique.  Story telling is a core element of my work, so, if there is an idea that is at the heart of the wedding or something that is significant to the way in which the happy couple got together, I like to weave strands of that into my final piece.

Does the client have complete control over the design or do they pick from templates?

I like the client to have as much input as possible.  My designs are generally from scratch.  I encourage my clients to be ‘design detectives’ so I gently push them to find things that they like that represent who they are, and tie in with their wedding theme.
