Kat

March 31, 2012

I may be biased but this cameo necklace DIY Tutorial from Cat Moley of DIY blog Cut Out and Keep may be my favourite ever! if you're of a crafty persuasion and fancy making some personalised wedding jewellery or gifts (how cute would these be for bridemaids?) then you're going to get very excited indeed about this one... Of course you don't have to make your necklace of me (!) or with my logo but I'm sure this tutorial will inspire you to come up with your own designs. DIY Tutorial: Origami Animals {Part One}

Kat

March 3, 2012

I've got something a little different in terms of a DIY tutorial today. Ceri & Terry's origami themed wedding was so popular (in fact so much so that I think a national wedding magazine picked it up afterwards as well!) when I blogged it that I asked Ceri if she wouldn't mind sharing some of origami tips and ideas with us. She's gone above and beyond what I expected of her and has not only put together some basic origami tips but has created three individual animal tutorials plus two extra tutorials of ways to encorperate your creatures into your wedding day (to be posted later today).

Kat

January 21, 2012

This simple and cute tutorial to make your own twine ball light garland is right up my street. Thank you to Michelle Kelly of Pocketful of Dreams for putting it together for us! Over to you Michelle... I've seen twine balls used for all sorts of purposes, from chandeliers to pretty table decor, so I thought I'd have a go at making a light garland using this idea. I wanted something that would create a really pretty lighting effect, but I also wanted the string to have quite a strong and vibrant colour.

This week's DIY tutorial comes from Betty of Betty Bee Vintage. This simple project looks like a lot of fun, and wouldn't these look amazing as part of your reception centrepieces? You could cover them with cupcakes, flowers, pearls...well, whatever takes you're fancy I guess. I kinda like the idea of using really dark coloured plates and putting skulls on them surrounded with ivy...but well, that's just me. I better leave this to the experts...

I'm much more likely to buy something handmade than actually make it myself! However I love DIY tutorials on blogs and I know you guys to. It's also so so so awesome to see the tutorials I feature are being used for your actual weddings afterwards. So baby I want more...and this is where you come in.

How to…Make Your Own Fabric Bouquet

Kat

April 2, 2011

The eagle-eyed amongst you may recognise the above image from Nicole & Aaron's 'Just Married' Session that I blogged back in February. As I was blogging it, I fell a little bit in love with Nicole's handmade fabric flower bouquet so I thought I'd try my luck and ask her if she'd be willing to share how to made it with my readers. Luckily for me (and you!) Nicole was more than happy and excited to share her tutorial with us. Enjoy this guys and as always, if you make this yourself I want to see pictures! Nicole has her own blog, Knitcole, so if you are interested in seeing more of her work then be sure to go check it out. The bouquet she made especially for this tutorial is even for sale through her blog (along with others) for the less crafty among you (ahem...like me!)
