Sissy Wish

I hadn’t planned on another blog post today but I couldn’t resist sharing these stunning images right this second! Siri is a singer/songwriter…and as it turns out, quite the model too. Just check out this stunning dress made for her by Stephanie James Couture for her upcoming tour.

I thought she needed something special for her 2009 US tour, so I went with the Fifi dress with a draped bodice and puffy, pleated sleeves…she loves 80’s fashions, so I did my best SJC with an 80’s spin!! It looked amazing on her. My friend and I went up to Hollywood to make sure it fit her and did a mini photoshoot while we were at it!!

The Cimbo Limbo posts continue with part deux of the grand review of 2009. Brace yourselves for the July to December extravaganza people!

♥ Jenny & Johnny were way to stylish and way to cool to exclude from this list. If I had a face like hers I’d certainly be rocking the girl-hawk hair do. A Ring bearing ninja, the motorbike portraits and the tattoo-inspired illustration guestbook all add to the mad style

♥ Teneisha & Chris’ crazy-gorgeous LasVegas wedding was nothing short of epic. That dress!

♥ Something a bit different for Rock n Roll Bride here, but how could I resist those faces?

As is customary at this time of year, I wanted to take some time to look back over the last 12 months and share with you some of my most favourite weddings, photo shoots and features. I think you’ll be hard pushed to not find something that makes you go ‘ooooh’ amongst this lot. Enjoy a-reminiscing! I’ll be back tomorrow with part 2 (there’s too much to narrow it down to just one post!) I’m also taking this slow blog-time (I like to refer to it as ‘Crimbo Limbo’ (!) to ponder my ideas and plans for Rock n Roll Bride in 2010. I’ll try and share my musings for the year ahead with you soon and would love for you to let me know what you think. It’s all about you dear reader after all…

♥ 2009 started off with a bang, with this ridiculously fabulous ‘Chicken Man and the Naked Chick’ shoot and wedding. If you haven’t had the pleasure of seeing this before, you certainly won’t be disappointed

♥ This magician and his wife’s 1920s vintage styling was resoundly popular all over blog-land and may have even started the fake moustache revolution…it was certainly one of the first where I saw them used anyway.

♥ More vintage loving came my way with this ‘Vintage Snow’ wedding – complete with the bride looking every bit the glamorous lady in her circa 1947 Dior suit

♥ Still my favourite gown of the year..that multi-coloured tulle just sends me wild!

Obsessional, Moi?!

I’m trying these new thing where I do all my writing in the mornings and schedule my posts throughout the day so that a) I don’t end up posting post after post after post and b) so that I actually have time to do other stuff instead of just blogging! However I’ve popped online this evening to reply to the plethora of emails that has built up over the last few hours and look…the ting is I literally could not wait until tomorrow to share these. Forgive me!

After featuring Kent & Roberta’s cute engagements, I knew their wedding would be equally adorable but little prepared me for this. I am all about Roberta’s own personal twist on her ‘Weddings by Debbie’ dress with the addition of a pink tulle underskirt, painstakingly sewn it by her Mother in Law - aww. Photographer Debbie has told me they have since done an awesome trash the dress shoot involving a bathtub – I can’t wait to see the results.

An Urban Fairytale

Hurrah! Part two of Caroline Ghetes’ amazing vintage inspired bridal sessions is live! This second installment has a much more modern twist to it as Caroline wanted to show how vintage fashion can work in super modern, urban suroundings. She scoured Etsy for the majority of the gorgeous pieces to go in this shoot. The ever so popular 50’s style tea dress was from ghmarketplace, the sparkly tulle veil was handmade with vintage material from the 1940’s by Liaison, the pink and the peacock hairpieces were by Chamberry Cherry and finally the dramatic bouquet was actually made by Caroline herself.

(Just in case you missed it, Part one is here)

Vendors involved in the shoot included:
Chamberry Cherry
Rachel Larraine
Baroque And Roll
Crimson Empress

Thanks again to Caroline for sharing these with us. I am waiting with baited breath for the third and final installment!

Layered Grey Tulle

Right my lovelies, prepare to be wowed. I discovered Amanda & Jeffery’s wedding when browsing Etsy for a tutu no less. I found seller Monique Martinez of Ouma Clothing who made Amanda’s GORGEOUS layered grey/blue, tulle dress and immediately knew I had to try and feature this wedding!

The Bridesmaids were treated to similar dresses (but each with their own individual twist) from Ultra Suite and Jeffery and his boys wore suits from Req Square in Queens Plaza Brisbane. I also can’t leave out talking about thise cute litle cars! They all belong to Amanda’s Dad and are vintage Austin A3o’s ( a classic British car.)

The Austrailian couple had their ceremony at the ultra modern Brisbane Powerhouse New Farm  and choose local buskers (who were only 16!) to perform the music. Their reception took place at River Room Southbank. Jeffery’s family come from Thailand, so in order to incorporate this into their big day, the couple infused their wedding with a beautiful Asian colour scheme. The wedding day was rounded off by a 80’s disco that went on late into the night.

Thanks so much to Amanda & Jeffery for taking the time to share their gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous day with us!

Glorious

Continuing the Long Sir love fest with this glorious green dress Bride…it was the tulle and the red show combo that did it for me.

When Fox & Freddy (seriously, how rock n roll can you get!?) got married they felt their photographs really didn’t represent who they really were. So 6 years down the line their friend and photographer Joy Wilson offered to do a super cool fake wedding shoot for them so they could have all the funk they deserved! Joy even went so far as to head off to a fabric store and fashion Fox’s ridiculously gorgeous dress using a plethora of stunningly coloured tulle’s and a lot of safety pins – she also made the one of a kind bouquet…multi talented you might say!

These are spectacular…and oh my God I want that dress!

Lustful.

I am super duper excited to post these photographs.  I don’t think I have to explain why!
