Trash The Dress

Kellie & Bradley had a gorgeous intimate wedding on the beach, followed by a teeny tiny reception at a restaurant.  No hassle, no fuss, just beautiful! They also left plenty of time to get these daring photographs…I love the one in the water – trash the dress on the actual wedding day!? Rock and roll!

A Visual Feast

Right, brace yourselves guys…I have some particularly amazing videos to share with you. You know what, amazing doesn’t even cover it – I’m thinking more like, these are so fan-bloody-tastically wonderfully, scrumptiously awesome that words can not even describe.

This first one if by far my favourite.  The mix of the amazing photography from Amina with Patrick’s ridiculously brilliant cinematography make for a mini-film that I could watch over and over. Still Motion really do give you the full experience! It really is a complete visual feast… Have I used enough adjectives so far? I think there is always room for more…

I adore this second video and this cute couple, watch it all the way through – the ending is so cute (and messy!) I came home from work today a little bit grumpy and I swear, these have cheered be up no end. Wooooooow Still Motion I am forever in your blogging debt.

Laura Randall of Edit 1 Media sent me some wonderful videos to share with you all, and I’m defiantly going to start with this one. The music video style is super cool and the couple, although seemingly rather traditional, definitely thought outside the box when it came to their ‘same day edit’. I love the swooping camera moves and the couple’s fun attitude. They didn’t go for a sappy sappy video style and the result is fantastic (we all know I love weddings more than most but overly lovely dovey videos really make me want to hurl!)

Seeing all these fabulous videos recently is really making me wish we’d gone for a rock n roll wedding day video!

I am loving posting all the videos this week. It seems the word is spreading about little old me and my little old blog and I am being inundated with fabulous video content as well as amazing images..woohooo! Can’t complain about that can we?

This is totally original take on the whole ‘trash the dress’ thing.  Don’t get me wrong I love TTD…in fact I love all dress pictures really, but Darrell Aubert of Aubert Films has taken the idea to a whole new level by telling a ‘trash the dress’ story with film.

Darrell goes on to explain:
Karen [the Bride] is a local part time photographer who was really interested in the TTD phenomenon. She reached out to me to shoot an awesome video for her and her family. I gladly accepted but with one condition, that I could tell a story with her video. One thing I always disliked about TTD was the lack of focus. It was more shock and awe than anything else. I wanted to tell the story of the bride’s situation, why is she doing this?
Karen’s story was one that, I’m sure, many mothers have. 3 kids, all the chores to do, a husband more interested in the football game than her. Her life lacked the spark that she had when she got married all those years ago. Finding her wedding dress and utterly destroying it is her way of expressing her frustrations and also a way of regaining some of that spark.

To read about Karen’s take on the experience, head on over to Darrell’s blog, but for now, check this out!
