Bea & Thomas flew from the UK to Germany with their photographers David & Klaus for a photo shoot to remember! David explains…

I took these images of Bea and Thomas with my photo partner, Klaus, in a dockyard and the whole idea was just to surprise the gorgeous couple (who did great even with zero modelling experience) with the surroundings. They had no idea where we were taking them (”bbb…but this isn’t the way to the airport!”) but by the time we cracked open the Champagne and set up the gear they were loving every bit of it.

A Shoot to Remember

Unable to shoot her cousin’s wedding, Lauri of Zoom Photography decided to give Kaya & Jon a day after shoot to remember!

Kaya and Jon are a true meeting of the minds. She works in advertising and he in finance, living in their Chicago loft, mostly run by their pug Chloe and bulldog Sebastian. Jon’s passionate love of music is apparent from the moment you meet him, his inspired word choice, verbose nature and unsurpassed loyalty also make an immediate impression. Kaya’s extroverted and vivacious qualities, coupled with her caring and generous nature make her noticeably standout in a room full of loud and boisterous people.

I thought it only right to mark this Halloween with some spooky and ghoulish wedding related posts. First up Jennifer’s bridal session, shot last Halloween. Her awesome dress was from Brides Against Breast Cancer and doesn’t she totally look the part?

A Day In The Life

As soon as these images landed in my inbox early this morning I was desperate to blog them right away! First off the couple are ridiculously beautiful (but that, of course, goes without saying), secondly I have never seen such a gorgeous set of images where it is just the two of them, no barriers, no props, just the newlyweds being themselves. In fact I’m not even sure I’ve ever seen an ‘in bed’ style shoot used as part of a day after session. I love it. The photographs are so intimate and so personal yet done in such as way that there is no element of sleaze…I don’t even feel voyeuristic looking at them They really are just art. Art and love.

We then move onto the bulk of the shoot, where living in Odessa, Texas (a place where there is apparently ‘nothing ‘) doesn’t seem to have made these images anything less than breathtaking. The train, the graffiti, the river, the tree. The gorgeously intimate style continues only this time with a back drop that tantalises the senses all by itself.

If this isn’t enough for you, then be sure to check out the couple’s wedding too!

A huge thank you to Chelsea for sending me these exclusive shots (oh yes, exclusives make me happy!)

Rustic Railroad

Katie & Tim’s rustic railroad wedding is totally adorable and you are going to love these. I am crazy about Katie’s red tipped, polka-dotty cute tea dress (by Stephanie James Couture), their colour coordinated cupcakes and her faux flower and red feather bouquet (also made by Stephanie James Couture.) Swoooooonworthy indeed

Looks like Ella & Ben had a great time during their engagement session with Razvan of Razvan Photography. The session took place in a teeny tiny town called Kalkaska which is defined as a ‘trout town’ due to the huge trout festival that happens there every year – who knew?!

Thanks to Razvan for sharing these session with me and I look forward to seeing their DIY laden wedding after it happens in August.

Derelict

Are these pure glamour or what? I love to contrast of the Kadie’s ridiculously glamorous dress and Colin’s swanky suit and hat combo alongside the derelict backdrop…

The photographer, Karen, described this couple to me…
Kadie & Colin’s wedding last October was the third wedding I’ve shot for
musicians from Colin’s band, OnceOver.  I’m ashamed to admit I’ve never seen the guys play, but they must be awesome because they all marry incredibly beautiful women!  Kadie is a RN and, ‘hello nurse!’, look at those legs!
They’re just about the most real, down-to-earth couple a photographer could ever hope to work with.

Thanks Karen! Please feel free to send me more more more!

Diane Sage of Sage Studios Photography sent me this great photo shoot, and explained what being ‘rock n roll’ means to her. A pretty perfect description I’d say!

When I think of a “rock and roll” wedding or photo shoot, I think of how the people in the photographs are.  They look good, they rock it behind the camera and overall the feel of the images stand out.

She also went on to discribe her ideas behind this stand out session…

This particular shoot was done to just spend the day having fun with a past bride. Liz and her husband Caleb got married in September 2008 but I asked her to come back and throw her gown back on so we could get these vintage feeling photographs.  Liz wore her fabulous dress and we added the funky neck pieces as well as some vintage luggage and brought her up to the tracks for some fun photographs. I didn’t go with the traditional bouquet, instead opting for these vintage feeling neck pieces that I think are really quite beautiful.  Liz wore her hair down with no veil to add to the casual feel of the shoot.

On another note, I am also a huge fan of Liz’s dress, I’m pretty sure it’s by Maggie Sottero and that I tried it on when I was looking for my own wedding dress.

Thanks Diane – I can’t wait for you to send me more!
