As most of you will know, I’m currently on my first American tour (OK it’s not really a ‘tour’ per-say as I’m only going to two places but that sounds fancy right!?) This past week I’ve been in Omaha for their annual fashion week. I was invited by the way-too-cool Megan Hunt better known as Princess Lasertron to model a limited edition Rock n Roll Bride dress (that she would design and make especially for me and the readers of Rock n Roll Bride) in her runway show to debut her Fall 2011 collection. She quite frankly didn’t have to ask me twice. I grabbed Gareth and we hot-footed our way to the US of A.

(fyi the dress will be available to purchase soon – don’t worry I’ll be blogging all about her newest dress designs – all of which I adore – and how you can get your mitts on one of your very own when I return to the UK)

I love Omaha. When I told people I was coming here most of them said ‘Huh? Why are you going to Nebraska?!’… and similarly many people I’ve met here asked me the same question (!) but seriously I love it!

I love the crazy-wide roads, the cobbled streets of the Old Market, the vintage, thrift and antique stores and the tattoo shops that are open past midnight. Plus Omahanians have to be some of the friendliest and coolest people…and seriously, if it’s good enough for Gaga…

Yes that’s right – Gareth & I are off to the US of A for two whole weeks. Our first stop is Omaha. I’ve been invited by Princess Lasertron to be a guest model in her show for Omaha Fashion Week and boy am I honoured/scared/nervous. Mrs Lasertron has designed a wedding dress especially for me and you’ll even be able to buy it though my blog afterwards! If you are in the Omaha region, I’ll be walking the catwalk on Thursday 25th (this Thursday coming) and I’d love to see some of you there. All info on showtimes, tickets and the location can be found via the Omaha Fashion Week website.

Oh yeah and Mondo Guerra from Project Runway is going to be there too…no pressure then!

Then, on Friday I’ll be making my American television debut. I know…mental! I’ve been invited on The Morning Blend show to talk about fashion, blogging and the UK wedding industry so if you’re able to get it where you are in the world feel free to tune in and tell your friends and family “ooh I know her!”

I’m going to try to get it recorded too so I can share with with the rest of my readers afterwards too. NERVOUS beyond belief…

♥ UK photographers, Tino & Pip are desperate for an awesome Rock n Roll couple’s wedding to shoot. Therefore they are offering half price coverage to a deserving and rockin’ couple!
♥ This is not a new article, but a friend of mine sent this to me to cheer me up. Feeling jealous of other people’s success and inadequate with what I’m doing with Rock n Roll Bride is part of the job of trying to make a success of your own business I guess! Don’t be different, be unique! (Thanks Andri – mwah)
♥ If you are still on the hunt for quirky, unique & adorable bridesmaid dresses then look no further than Quail Bridal. I am currently having a love affair with the teal ‘toasting’ dress
♥ I love these authentic vintage touches
♥ I just had to share this image shot by The Nichols from Sarah & Jaime’s wedding. After pink, this shade of green is my favourite colour ever. For the full report head over to Green Wedding Shoes later today.

♥ Shhh! An incognito New York Photographer is running a photo shoot contest. Incognito because they are keeping their identity a secret so not so influence the entries they receive. They say,
In an effort to only attract the most creative, I have decided to remain anonymous. I do not want contestants going to my website for inspiration on what they think I may be looking for. I want them to be creative and original. I realize that this is unorthodox, but I truly believe this will enable me to find the type of contestants I seek.

I would love it if a Rock n Roll couple won this. Come on you can do it!

The Mold Breakers Contest

♥ Living TV are still on the look out for a Rock n Roll couple to take part in the next series of Four Weddings. If you’re in the UK and getting hitched between now and March then get in touch! For anyone who hasn’t seen the show before, here’s the info from the production team:

We are casting for the second series of “Four weddings” which see’s 4 brides attending each others’ weddings as guests and they will judge & score the day as a whole based on four categories, The Dress, The Food, The Venue and The Overall Experience. The scores are not disclosed amongst the other brides until after all the weddings when it will be revealed whose wedding has been judged the best! The bride with the highest score at the end of the show will win a Luxury dream honeymoon.
We would really love a real variety of weddings celebrating different cultures and personal interests. We would love to include a gothic wedding or burlesque wedding, however we’re open to all sorts of weddings. This wedding would need to be taking place in December, January or February.
