Too Wonderful for Words

I know I say this a lot but eeek I am so excited to share Vince & Amanda's wedding. I have been lusting over it ever since Lisa of Ophelia Photography showed me a sneaky peak and the full wedding certainly lives up to my hype! The candy coloured wedding took place at Minoru Chapel and UBC Boathouse in Vancouver and Amanda's dress was handmade by her Mother - how rad is that!? Lisa you rock my flipping world girl. Thanks so much for sharing these with Rock n Roll Bride. I heart you!

Iconic Californian photographer and blog land favourite, Stephanie Williams, was kind enough to let me be the first to share this beautiful new engagement session she just shot with husband, and business partner, Issac. Naoko & Taejo's shoot is fit to bursting with colour and fun, who could ever been uncheered by jelly babies and balloons!? Thanks so much to Stephanie & Issac for sharing with me! Mwah... *The* Carnival Wedding

Kat

September 28, 2009

I'm sure most of blog land will have seen and heard of The Langs before without even knowing it. Their engagements, wedding, portraits and anniversary shoot (all photographed by the uber talent that is Sloan Photographers) have certainly made the rounds and with huge justification. Yes. Wow. So you can imaging my excitement and surprise to get an email from Stacie, one half of the duo to let me know that her and Geoff have ventured into wedding photography themselves and would I like to be the first blog to share some of their work...erm Hell to the YES I would. I predict big things for these guys. Mark my words, blog land will be all over these two within a matter of weeks. Anyway, lets get onto the actual wedding they sent me and boy is it a beauty. Kerri & Kyle had a carnival themed wedding and I'm not talking a few little touches - I mean full out actual carnival awesomeness! The couple did everything themselves and on a very small budget but they had the full works - An actual balloon lady, bubbles, cotton candy, photo booth, popcorn, soda bar, candy bar and of course lots of dancing! AAAAmazing. Stacie & Geoff I am honoured that you have sent your first submission to little old me. Eeek...love love love. Thank you so much for being so freakin' awesome. Credit: Lang Photographers

Childhood Sweethearts

I have been looking forward to seeing Hannah & Alex's wedding ever since I saw their school yard engagements and the bridal shoot to be used for their stag/hen/bachelor/ette parties invites. I first spoke to Hannah about 6 months ago when she forwarded me some of the work of her sister and photographer, Kelty and I have been nuts about it every since. I have been lucky enough to become good online friends with Kelty so I was over the moon when she sent me a sneak peek of the wedding photographs after the day.Credit: Steep Street Photography

Wai-Ching Bride

Kat

September 10, 2009

Evan & Angela's wedding was at the Inn at Laurel Point in Victoria, BC. They had an intimate event with just 20 or 30 guests within their own bridal penthouse suite with an antique/bird theme. They set up a typewriter to be used a vintage style guest book, birdcages around the room and old-time candy for goodie-bag favours. They are both photographers as well so there were antique cameras scattered about as well as lots of shots taken with Evan's old Polaroid Land Camera. Angela's veil was handmade by an artist in Portland, OR and her dress was designed by local Seattle designer Chrissy Wai-Ching. It's a pretty damn amazing dress huh?

Sunset Love Story

I really need to be lying down with some honey and lemon and watching trash on tv as I'm sick...grr I don't do well when I get ill - boredom is not my Forté. I just had to drop by and share a few little images from this Russian engagement session entitled 'Sunset Love Story.' Totally beautiful huh? It's hard to choose, but I think the 'red heart lollypop' one has got to be my favourite. Too gorgeous! The photographer, Mukhina Ekaterina, will actually be touring the states in October/November of this year and would love to meet and photograph some rock n roll couples. Drop her an email if you're game! Until tomorrow, when I hope to be feeling less vile and able to share all the amazing weddings I've been sent over the weekend (I swear...they are all amazing!) Childhood Dreams

I love it when my sponsors email me their work to feature. I am always a little bit biased when it comes to sharing the love with them (shh!) but only because they are all so FAB! Kelly & Will had an engagement session with Whitney Lee surrounded their childhood. Shrek and Star Wars pinatas, lucidly coloured candy and a 'moonbounce' all played a role in their session. They look like they had a blast and even bought their little girl Millie to join in! Thanks to Leah for sharing these with me, and if you too are interested in being a sponsor on Rock n Roll Bride, don't be scared - drop me a little email and say hey. Credit: Whitney Lee Photography

The Wedding Tree

Kat

July 18, 2009

I am so over the moon to be the first blog to bring you this amazing wedding. Paul & Cassie's day really couldn't be anywhere but Rock n Roll Bride though surely? From her cute cute dress, to their kick ass tattoos - from the simply sweet ceremony site (just plastic chairs and autumnal leaves) to all the adorable personal touches (I am crazy in love with their thumb print wedding tree 'guest book'.) There is in fact nothing I don't love and I could go on with a big old list of everything I am swooning over right now. However it's probably better for me just to share the photographic joy oui? Thanks to the wonderful Jonas Peterson for the Rock n Roll Bride exclusive!

Teresa & Brian's beautiful outdoor wedding is one worth stopping for. Be sure to check out all these gorgeous images in full, especially the adorable one of Teresa through Brian's heart-shaped fingers. Aww. I am completely loving her dress, their ring shot is making me crave neon coloured sweeties and all the portraits with the streaming light make me wanna get up and dance a little bit, how about you? As always, thanks to Jessica for sharing the wedding love. Credit: Jessica Purvis

Candy Coloured Cuteness

Kat

July 11, 2009

Maria of Squaresville Studios has the kinda style I love - she adores candy coloured cuteness just like me. She ran a contest on her site entitled 'Bride with pink shoes rock' and Sally was the obvious winner as she wore pink Converse on her wedding day. Sally's gorgeous birdcage veil was made by Tara To The T, her make up was done by Holly Evans and Marlena Isbell was responsible for her faaaabulous 50's style hair do. I am also going a little bit nuts over those cotton candy walls! Thanks to Maria of from Squaresville Studios for sending me these sunny, neon , happy happy shots. Credit: Squaresville Studios

Family, Friends and Fabulous Fashion!

Kat

July 10, 2009

I have been dying to get the wedding up all day, and I am so excited that it is all now ready to go. Photographer Monika Broz of Project Mad Love sent me these gorgeous images alongside a fantastic overview of their day by the couple, Cori & Rollie. So without further ado... We wanted to have a relaxed but stylish outdoor wedding with a casual feel in the Lambertville/New Hope area close to where are families are from but not too far from NYC where a lot of our friends are. I always pictured the sun shining with fluffy clouds and blue skies and kids running around and everyone just kicking back and enjoying the good food and good company. We chose the Mills for it's beautiful location on the Delaware River and the charm and history of the buildings.

Sweet As Cherry Pie

Kat

July 3, 2009

This sugary sweet engagement session is full of fun and frolics and I have been dying to get these up all day. Bridget and Dan chose Balboa Island for their shoot as they will be getting married there in September at her grandparents house. The candy bouquet was quickly put together by the photographer, Crissy after she saw them in cute little bunches at a local shop, and the stick on moustaches were bought on Etsy. Thanks to Crissy for sharing these sweet as cherry pie shots with me!
