Carnival Crazy

Dina & Gary’s 1920’s vaudeville carnival themed wedding makes me wanna squeal. I wish wish wish we’d done something as fabulous as this when we got hitched. The wedding took place at Asbury Park, New Jersey and the pair really went to town with their theme – from popcorn and candy for the guests, a sideshow performance, goldfish in bowls… in fact everything you might expect to find at a carnival! Dina wore a custom dress (made by a friend) and wore jewellery and carried a candy bouquet made by another friend Melissa Heid.

Perfectly Sweet

Carnival weddings always make me smile. Jenna & Tommy’s wedding is no different.

I thought I’d share another wedding with you that I did this summer. The bride’s last name was Morrissey which made me instantly think of The Smiths (one of my most favorite bands ever). Jenna and Tommy were married in Providence, RI in Roger Williams Park. Their inspiration was that of a 1950’s carnival complete with carousel, penny candy and popcorn. The bride stole away during the reception to change into a pink vintage dress to surprise her new husband. Their first dance? “There is a Light That Never Goes Out” by The Smiths. Perfectly sweet.

Although clearly Halloween themed, I’ve got something a bit different to what you might expect in the form of Jane & John’s elegant and graceful post wedding shoot. The pumpkin lollipops lend themselves perfectly to these flirtatious and cute autumnal images.

Rock n Roll Gold

Dan & Danielle are definitely rock n roll gold! Unfortunately I don’t have much info on this wedding but with the OK from the bride I just had to share these right away. I’m pretty sure it was worth a post just for the gorgeous wedding images and all the wicked details right?

Edit: The dress was from Carmela Sutera Couture

Second Time Lucky

Both beautiful and fun, this wedding was zipped over to me by newbie photographer Emma Case. I am struggling to believe this is only the second wedding she has ever shot! The Southampton based photographer told me all about Ruth & Dan’s wedding:

Ruth and Dan were married on the 3rd October 2009 at Hartington Hall Youth Hostel in Derbyshire.  They hired the whole hostel for the weekend and guests shared traditional style youth hostel rooms with single beds, bunk beds and shared showers!

Iconic Californian photographer and blog land favourite, Stephanie Williams, was kind enough to let me be the first to share this beautiful new engagement session she just shot with husband, and business partner, Issac. Naoko & Taejo’s shoot is fit to bursting with colour and fun, who could ever been uncheered by jelly beans, balloons and that stunning heart shaped ring!?

I hope you are in a happy place today. If not Boopsie Daisy’s yummy carnival sugar land will surely but a smile on your face. Let me know if it worked. I am now beaming all over.

Childhood Sweethearts

I have been looking forward to seeing Hannah & Alex’s wedding ever since I saw their school yard engagements and the bridal shoot to be used for their stag/hen/bachelor/ette parties invites. I first spoke to Hannah about 6 months ago when she forwarded me some of the work of her sister and photographer, Kelty and I have been nuts about it every since.  I have been lucky enough to become good online friends with Kelty so I was over the moon when she sent me a sneak peek of the wedding photographs after the day.
