When I read the email that Aaron & Jay send to their photographer when they enquired about her shooting their wedding I was smitten. I wonder why huh?!

“I love your photos and would be thrilled if you could shoot our wedding on July 17th of this year. We are planning a super fun, little bit retro and a little bit country wild and crazy with a whole lot of DIY elements party here in Vancouver. ps. I found you through Rock n Roll Bride (the best wedding blog in the world).”

Yeah…flattery really will get you everywhere. Aaron & Jay’s wedding is also completely stupendously rad …always helps when you want to get your wedding featured on these here pages!

The couple were married outside The Old Hastings Mill Store, which was one of the only buildings in Vancouver to survive the Great Fire of 1886. It is now located near Jericho Beach in Kitsilano.  They were married with a view of the harbour, the boats and the mountains – bliss. For their reception they headed to Cambrian Hall.

The couple’s very first date was at Nikkyo Sushi on Main Street in Vancouver which just happened to be around the corner from their reception venue. So, for some fun wedding day pictures, the couple and their photographer Lisa headed out to have some sushi & beer. The couple also served sushi from Nikkyo Sushi at their reception!

Aaron wore a custom made dress from Dolly Couture and accessories from Farmer’s Daughter on Etsy. To compliment her outfit, her bridesmaids wore polkadot 1950s style dresses and they all had different coloured petticoats underneath. How gorgeous is that?!

One of the greatest things about my job as a blogging maestro is all the wonderful people I get to meet…and it’s even better when we get to meet in real life! The delightful Emma Case is down in London for a few weeks and so emailed me and suggested we meet up go out for Sushi. Now, those that know me will be well aware that I’m not one to say no to Sushi! We met up last Tuesday and immediately hit it off, talking non-stop about wedding planning, photography, blogging, husbands, proposals, flowers, music…you know the drill! I was particularly excited to hear about some fabulous weddings she’s shot over the past few weeks and lucky for you I got first dibs on sharing them all with you (score!)

First up is Helene & Simon’s fabulously chic and rustic Yorkshire wedding and Helene looks ridiculously gorgeous in her vintage style dress made for her by Dresses at No. 9?

The colour and fun of this stunning wedding really made me smile – oh and isn’t Aubrey, the bride, totally hot too?! I adore her cuuute short dress and birdcage veil combo. The shots of the wedding party in front of the blue house are also too fabulous for words – they make me want a bright blue house…actually strike that – it is of course a bright pink house that I want!

I spend a lot of time online (like seriously hours a day) and so of course I come across many a fabulous wedding and non-wedding thing that I don’t want to dedicate a full spot to. So, inspired by one of my favourite bloggers, I have decided on a new little feature. Every Thursday I will introduce you to a few extra treats out there on the world wide web. I hope you enjoy it. Let’s begin…

♥  Problogger spoke about a topic very dear to my heart – the importance of outbound links when blogging.
♥  The Unbride, Justine Ungaro, has relaunched her fabulous blog. It’s had a makeover and is more awesome than ever. Plus to celebrate she is running a veil giveaway from Castle Bride Couture.
Vivienne Westwood has released some brand new colours of the super popular Lady Dragon shoe. I need those red/fuchsia ones in my life asap!
♥  The delightfully dark La Carmina gave us a sneak peak of her newest book – Cute Yummy Time. I can not wait to get my hands on it!
♥ This is kind of last week’s news – but as this is a new feature and I had to squeeze it in. My friend Marina and her band Miss Fitz got through to bootcamp on the X-Factor. Check them out. I’m biased yes but they totally rock!
Design*Sponge posted some super gorgeous downloadable wallpapers on their site. I am currently rocking the  Deanne Cheuk (Light) design.
I Love Lolliblog posted a candy, tully, frothy, gorgeous inspiration board – It’s My Party.
♥ And these lovely people gave Rock n Roll Bride a shout out this week…

Have you been eagerly sitting by your computer waiting for the next installment of Teneisha & Chris’ crazy-gorgeous wedding extravaganza? I certainly have..every 5 minutes I’ve been checking my email to see if the rest of the photographs have been sent to me…sad? yes, yes I am.
Now if you thought their engagement shoot was to die for then you ain’t seen nothing yet!

I’m actually going to stop gabbing on about it and hand straight over to the couple who have described their wedding and their idea of what makes a rock n roll wedding absolutely perfectly…

The objective for our wedding, besides getting married, was about two things. The first was a goal that every single person have a completely kick ass time, including ourselves, and the second being that we would do things our way, no questions asked. We solved the “having fun” issue pretty easily by getting married on a Saturday evening, in Las Vegas; with a premium open bar and an excellent ipod play list. We served sushi and had chocolate covered strawberries instead of cake at our reception and had an open invitation after-party with a bathtub full of beer and debauchery that lasted until 5am.  We also encouraged people to get creative with the dress code, which produced a very colorful crowd.

I think that our Bride and Groom outfits helped to set the right mood as well.  I wore a vintage inspired, Sherri Hill polka dotted blue/gold/silver dress with all bright red accessories that I either made myself or bought from independent artists on etsy.com. I had the dress shortened from ballroom to tea length, which everyone tried to talk me out of and I’m so glad I didn’t listen! The groom wore crazy blue pants, suspenders, a fedora and an awesome bow tie that matched my dress perfectly.

You love this couple right? Yeah me too. Again, I can’t thank Teneisha & Chris’ and their wonderful photographer Holly Jones enough for sharing this amazing wedding with me!
