Last Thursday I was lucky enough to be invited to the fancy pants grand opening of the Julia Boggio Studios in Wimbledon, London. Not only was it the very studio that Julia and I did my vintage boudoir shoot but I was able to meet a load of new people from the UK wedding industry as well as catch up with some old friends.

I headed up to London with the lovely Lisa of Magpie Vintage. Before the party we paid a visit to our friends at Luella’s Boudoir in Wimbledon who kitted us out with sparkles and shoes (Lisa nabbed some gorgeous Emmy shoes and I borrowed a beeeautiful Magpie Vintage headband – and yes I wanted to keep it!)  We then all piled back in Lisa’s car and made our way to Merton Abbey Mills where Julia’s studio is located.

The studio was filled with people all talking excitedly about their plans and ideas for the coming wedding season, and as we sipped Bellini’s and ate canapes off a tray with my face on (yeah, Julia nice idea ha!) I couldn’t help but wish the party just went on that little bit longer.  Here are a few images and a super cool video of the event (can you spot my pink head and ‘rock n roll’ necklace?) Enjoy! And UK brides, remember – I now have a million and one contacts for like, everything you might want for your Rock n Roll wedding! Hit me up with an email if you need any recommendations.

Anna & Ryan’s wedding was marvelously simple, rustic, old-fashioned romantic affair. Think prairie flowers, wheat, fabric streamers, ball jars and parasols. The round barn that was host to the event belongs to Anna’s family.

Anna’s dress was made by her Mum and was closely based on a design by an independent Italian designer named Mirit Weinstock who sends her clothes out to girls around the world to wear in self portraits to promote her clothing (check out the ‘birthday’ video on her homepage – it’s fab). Her hairpiece was by the always fabulous Which Goose.

It’s nice to break away from all the weddingness sometimes and just spend some time enjoying some non wedding inspiration and Taylor’s senior portraits fall smack bang into this category. I’m sure it’s pretty obvious why I love these – the colours, the contrast and her gorgeous retro rockabilly style – she has got that pin up thing down to a tee with her fluttering eyelashes and her matt, crimson lips. Can you believe this gal is only 18!?

ps I ♥  that egg chair a little too much!

I have very much been looking forward to sharing these rockabilly style, pin up-esque, damn super sexy boudoir shoots from Marin Kristine Photography. Anyone who rocks a pink or blue wig gets a thumbs up from me. These may make a great gift for your future Husband, but nobody can deny you’ll have just as much fun playing dress up!

Thanks to Marin for sharing these with me.
