Retrospective

For some reason, I have been sent a lot of amazing stuff from South African photographers and couples recently… I don’t know why but it’s nice to know the South Africans are feeling the Rock n Roll love now too!

Newlywed’s Bianca & Sean got married in Cape Town (where they have now lived for 10 years) at a gorgeous restaurant called Pure at Hout Bay Manor. The wedding was based on a vintage/retrospective theme. The Bridesmaids all chose their own sleek black dresses and the boys wore skinny ties and sharp black suits. Bianca looked every bit the vintage princess in a custom made silver satin and lace wedding gown made by local couturier Cindy Bam and a vintage 1920s hat and veil.

So it turns out you all loved the top 20 huh? Well I did too and to be honest it was really blooming difficult to narrow it down to just 20…fancy seeing 20 more then? I’ve only featured weddings that are older than about 4 months (past 50 pages in – there are well over 100 pages of old posts on this site…oh yes!) because otherwise I would have been here forever. Some of these you may have seen before and some I’m sure you certainly won’t have. That is the beauty of the top 20! Again, let me know what you think…

Aww pretty pretty sparkle dress! Faith sure looks rock n roll glam on her wedding day back in April! It’s not only the dress that I love - her faux tats are super cute and the peacock feathers instead of a traditional floral bouquet are of course stunning. Her one of a kind, custom dress was designed and made by Marelize from Gingered in South Africa. The gown was based on Jenny Packham’s Papillon dress, but being in South Africa getting hold of the origianl proved too difficult so Faith decided to get her own version made. Marelize even spent over 45 hours hand sewing on all the beads on the bodice – wow…Glam rock on!

For The Love

I’m pretty sure that Gwen & Joel are secretly models because no regular couple are this adorably photogenic right? I can’t really say what it is I love about these – because it’s everything!

Thanks to the wonderful Lizelle for sharing these with me
