I literally couldn’t think of a more apt title for this post as when I saw Mary & Adam’s 1930s/40s themed bridal shoot I squeeeeealed in my email reply to photographers Jessica & Chelsea , ’Oh these are so incredible, I can’t wait to blog them!’

“We had been planning this shoot for months but just needed the right two people to do it” the guys told me. ”As you can see, Adam and Mary were perfect for the shoot.  We actually had the wedding dress made for Mary by a local seamstress for $100 (including the cost of the fabric).  So, we loaded up and headed to Denison, TX.  Our plan was to shoot at the Old Dennison Hotel, but when we got there we found some other amazing places to shoot as well.  The town is so weird.  It seems like it once was a booming little town (like in the early part of the 1900′s), but then as it started to crumble, no one ever fixed it or tore down the old buildings; instead they just built all these modern structures around it.  It just feels kind of forgotten, but it was really perfect for our shoot. One of the places we shot was this adorable little 50′s diner and malt shop complete with old gas pumps, a juke box, and checkered floors! It’s called Peggy Sue’s 50′s Diner and Ice Cream Parlor.  As for the Denison hotel…

Lizz & Will tied the knot at Houston Mill House in Atlanta, GA. The wedding had a great floral, spring-like feel but with touches of punk rock throughout – just the way I like it! Lizz found her dress at Bridals by Elena in Glen Burnie MD. isn’t it beautiful? Lizz told me

“I had done some dress shopping for about a month, and nothing seemed to STAND OUT. Until I walked into Elena’s.  I had about 4 dresses I wanted to try on and was on my way to the fitting room when I saw my dress on a Mannequin.  I instantly knew that was my dress.  It was the first one I tried on and it was the last.  Later that day I found the perfect shoes I was looking for, and when Elena saw them she thought it would be a spunky idea to die them the color of the purple sash on my dress.  I was a great experience, and Elena and her daughter are amazing seamstresses”

So you loved Omar & Junela’s gothic engagements right? Well you are going to go doolally over their wedding. Words can not describe the work, passion and love that must have gone into planning this day. The details are spectacular and the bride’s powder pink feathered dress, designed and made by Filipino designer Joel Escober…well it literally made my heart skip a beat.

Jeff & Maggie got married at the courthouse in Seattle but met with their photographer Dana Pleasant a couple of weeks later to do this rad photo shoot. Maggie wore this beautiful Betsey Johnson dress that she also wore the day they got married. She really wanted some great photos in it – what an excuse! The trio headed to the international district to Kobe Terrace, which is a community garden.

The original tattooed bride photographers, Allebach sent me these this morning and I had to get them up right away. What could be better to gaze at right before Christmas that tattooed beauties looking shaaweeet!?

The images came from a ‘shoot out’ in Philadelphia, where a bunch of photographers gets together and shoot the same situation together to learn from each other and generally get some kick ass imagery themselves…

So the Philly Photog Shootout happened. In case you haven’t heard a Photog shootout is an event where photographers meet, photograph models and learn from each other. Anyway Rob “Ninja” Nicholson contacted me because he wanted to get a punk rock bridal theme going and needed a few more models. So I reached out to the most amazing couples in the world (my clients) and got a few responses. Jess an amazing bride (and rollergirl) married earlier this year was one of the first to respond. Patty DeCasere (my old punk rock band‘s drummer’s former band‘s singer’s wife – got it?) did an amazing job giving Jess a mohawk.Alicia from the 20s flapper shoot we did at the historic Stotesbury Mansion handled the costume design (available for wardrobe at belle_morte66@yahoo.com)Erin Proud (wedding planner of Lori & Kevin’s Eastern State Penitentiary wedding) channeled her inner anger and teenage angst for the shoot, along with an amazing wedding photographer turned model, Leslie Gilbert.
