Olga & Jo’s Two Day Russian/British Fusion Wedding

Kat

February 2, 2011

Olga & Jo's Rye wedding makes me super happy! I chatted to the bride all about it - their style ideas and how they integrated both their cultures, Russian and English, into their super cute wedding. She explained, "As soon as Jo and I had moved to Brighton, we knew we wanted to mark our wedding day by celebrating it by the beach. It is a Russian tradition to celebrate a wedding over two days so that with family and friends, and their children, there can be one formal and one informal day. With my family being from Russia we wanted to keep to this tradition and felt an English seaside was perfect for catering for both days and the number of people who would be travelling far for the occasion." "Having searched unsuccessfully in Brighton for our perfect location, we stumbled across The Place At The Beach Hotel in Camber Sands which looked just right. Having visited the venue and seen the beach across the road, the accommodation for our families and friends and a spacious garden with a BBQ, we knew it had everything we wanted for our two days."

Olga & Jo’s Epic Brighton Engagement Shoot

Kat

February 2, 2011

I've got an epic double bubble of a feature today - Olga & Jo's engagement session in Brighton, followed by their gorgeous Rye wedding later today. The Russian couple wanted their pre-wedding shoot to take place in Brighton as it held special significance to their relationship. The pair moved to the beach resort town in April last year and a week later Jo proposed right on the beach! "My engagement ring was hand made by the family friend jeweller and it is made of platinum with rhodium plating to make it look dark and diamonds," Olga told me. "We had my grandparents came to stay with us so we had a photo session together after having a breakfast at our favorite Bill's cafe and store in Brighton. I was wearing the Eley Kishimoto skirt and top and Jo was wearing Folk cardigan."

An Irregular Choice – A Wonderfully Theatrical British Wedding

Kat

July 12, 2010

I woke up this morning to the news that the Rock n Roll Bride Mad Hatter shoot had been blogged by Irregular Choice shoes! Seriously, how glad am I that Vivienne Westwood didn't deliver my shoes on time and Irregular Choice saved the day? I feel like all famous and stuff... I thought then it only appropriate that I blogged this gorgeous Irregular Choice bride that I'd been planning to blog this week. I saw a few pictures of bride Sophie-Jayne in her amazing Ian Stuart dress and Irregular Choice shoes on the Schuh facebook page (they blogged about our shoot too!) and knew I had to find out more about this wedding. Sophie-Jayne & Jason got married at Sophie's old College by a Reverend who used to be one of her teachers. After the very personal ceremony, everybody was transported to Sophie-Jayne's parent house for the reception in her Dad's Old Route Master Bus!

A Hollywood Love Story

Kat

September 27, 2009

Ok so I was going to attempt to wait until mid nest week for the blogging of these little beauties but hell, I'm waaay too impatient. Ermm...wow. My mind is officially blown. Photographer and rock n roll sponsor, Katja Mukhina sent me these the other day after I saw a sneak peek on her flickr stream and begged her to send the rest to me as soon as they were ready! This 'Love Story' shoot was shot and conceived without the use of photo shop. The images behind the couple are all rear projections - super vintage Hollywood cinema stylee. I can not get over these....lordy lord they are so beeeautiful. Dear all my American readers... Katja will be travelling to The States In October and staying until November. She would love to shoot some American couples in this time and I know you would love to be immortalised so glamorously. So what are you waiting for? Drop her an email already! Thank you Katja...eeeek wonderful! Credit: Katja Mukhina

Sunset Love Story

Kat

August 24, 2009

I really need to be lying down with some honey and lemon and watching trash on tv as I'm sick...grr I don't do well when I get ill - boredom is not my Forté. I just had to drop by and share a few little images from this Russian engagement session entitled 'Sunset Love Story.' Totally beautiful huh? It's hard to choose, but I think the 'red heart lollypop' one has got to be my favourite. Too gorgeous! The photographer, Mukhina Ekaterina, will actually be touring the states in October/November of this year and would love to meet and photograph some rock n roll couples. Drop her an email if you're game! Until tomorrow, when I hope to be feeling less vile and able to share all the amazing weddings I've been sent over the weekend (I swear...they are all amazing!) Cutting Edge

Kat

July 6, 2009

One of the perks of my 'job' as a blogger is that I get to meet so many fabulous photographers, not only online but in real life (seriously I do leave my computer sometimes.) A few weeks ago I arranged a mass meet up of some of the best London-based photographers and was lucky enough to meet Russian born Zhanna Malaya. Now finally I get to share some of her stunning images with you. There is something about those Russians - their photography always looks so cutting edge, fresh and clean..I adore it, and I adore this cute cute couple.

The Language Of Love

Kat

July 2, 2009

Rock n Roll Bride seems to be going all continental today, Ukrainian photographer Nikolay Kucan is up next. Due to the whole language barrier thing I'm afraid I don't know anything about this wedding, but when Nikolay sent me an email with just a link to these images I still felt them worthy of a post. I love her cute short/long dress, the picturesque town location (is it just me or does it almost look like a movie set?!) the fairytale feel of the photographs in the woods and the Bride rocking out with buskers on the street. They look like they had an absolute blast... I only wish I could share more with you.
