Wow wow wow. Kelly & Sean sure knew how to rock a wedding! From an emotional ceremony, to a family-orientated reception to a crazy-fun party, the whole day looks like an utter blast! “The one thing that we dislike about weddings is how they are all alike” they told me. ”We understand its tradition and that’s how its supposed to be done, but why? why is there a set pattern?  We wanted our wedding to be personal to us. We wanted to start our own traditions and do things unique to our style. The theme of our wedding was basically “Things We Love” and  it ended up being the perfect reflection of us. We did whatever we wanted and nixed things we disliked. we strived to make it intimate and personal. Our wedding was hands down the best day of our lives, we had everything we loved, surrounded by everyone we love and made sure to marry the heck outta the one we loved!”

The wedding too place at The Allan House. They had a short and sweet ceremony outside which was full of touching moments. The groom’s grandfather was a groomsman! He really relieved the tension during the ceremony when he whistled at the bride as she walked down the aisle…what a lovely idea to involve such a special member of the family in the wedding in this way.

No joke, I’ve been looking forward to seeing this wedding for weeks. I met up with photographer Emma Case a little while ago when she was down in London and as we wondered around Topshop (obviously the first place one might head when in central London!) she was eager to tell me all about this amazing wedding she’d just shot. It sounded phenomenal then and it’s even more awesome when I’ve put these images to the story.

“Liz & Steve were married in Worthing at the Worthing Dome” photographer Emma told me, ”which has the most amazing art deco cinema on the ground floor and a gorgeous sun room with a balcony on the first floor where they hold civil ceremonies and the reception. Opposite to this scrummy building was the beautiful beach and Worthing Pier…. errr… wow. Liz wore a jaw dropping fishtail dress with a cute faux fur shrug, a cute pearl necklace and a birdcage veil… ahh man this photographer was so in her element! Oh and her shoes! Bright red!… yummy, yummy, yum, yum. Steve also looked pretty dapper in a cool navy suit teamed with a purple tie and matching purple thistle boutonniere.”

Meredith & Eric’s wedding was based around their all time favourite band – Gun n Roses baby! Meredith wore a dress designed by the same designer behind the wedding dress in the November Rain video. It is imperative they you listen to this song as you view these fabulous images (and excuse me, but did anyone else forget how awesome this song is…and don’t even get me started on the hair - I love it!)

To top it all off, the couple actually got their wedding for free…yes free! Check out the full story from the News 9 news report and the full list of vendors who donated their services for nothing on photographer Brandi’s blog.

Perfectly Sweet

Carnival weddings always make me smile. Jenna & Tommy’s wedding is no different.

I thought I’d share another wedding with you that I did this summer. The bride’s last name was Morrissey which made me instantly think of The Smiths (one of my most favorite bands ever). Jenna and Tommy were married in Providence, RI in Roger Williams Park. Their inspiration was that of a 1950′s carnival complete with carousel, penny candy and popcorn. The bride stole away during the reception to change into a pink vintage dress to surprise her new husband. Their first dance? “There is a Light That Never Goes Out” by The Smiths. Perfectly sweet.

I’m sure most of blog land will have seen and heard of The Langs before without even knowing it. Their engagements, wedding, portraits and anniversary shoot (all photographed by the uber talent that is Sloan Photographers) have certainly made the rounds and with huge justification. Yes. Wow.

So you can imaging my excitement and surprise to get an email from Stacie, one half of the duo to let me know that her and Geoff have ventured into wedding photography themselves and would I like to be the first blog to share some of their work…erm Hell to the YES I would. I predict big things for these guys. Mark my words, blog land will be all over these two within a matter of weeks.
