Wonderful Waves

You are going to totally adore these. Nancy’s dress is just gorgeous and all those wonderful waves throughout the skirt make for some pretty dramatic shots. I am just loving all the portraits (especially the ones with the cute doggie, sorry Edward – i.e. Groom!) but I am particularly crazy about that one of the couple on the steps with all the tea lights…just wow!

Make sure you go check out their wedding slideshow to see the rest of the day too, it’s worth for all the detail shots alone.

Thanks to the wonderful Amelia Lyon for letting me share these with you all.

Fo’ Real

I was never a huge fan of the whole fake moustache at weddings thing that was really popular last year. I think mainly because I just didn’t ‘get’ it? I didn’t (and still don’t) understand what the actual point of it was.
However when it comes to real life moustaches, well that is a completely different matter entirely.  This dude has got one seriously awesome ‘tache going on..coiffed to perfection wouldn’t you say?
Plus his Bride has got some pretty damn cool tattoos so, well, there was no way in hell I wasn’t going to share these was there?

The photographer, Katherine, describes this truly rock n roll wedding:
This couple had the most awesome wedding at Kali Kate in Buda. You’ve seen all the fake mustache weddings where everyone wore a fake mustache -well this groom grew the real thing- which he waxed and combed perfectly.!

Kristin has the best vintage kitchen for shooting still lifes. She’s also a great gardener , so of course she did all her own flowers- from the table arrangements to her beautifully simple bouquet of peony tulips.

She had all of her bridesmaids wore vintage inspired red polka dotted 40’s dresses. And she had a flower fairy instead of a flower girl!

But the best part was the music, a dj spinning real vinyl where he played a song that her Father sang as a opera singer- a surprise for their Father -Daughter dance and the last song was the cool old Pink Floyd song “Fearless”.

Be Inspired II

I am super excited today as not only have I got a plethora of amazing stuff to share with you in the next few days but myself and David have decided the winners of the free wedding photography contest! I will be announcing the winners on here as soon as I have told them!

I really loved featuring Emily’s first inspiration board on Monday and it seemed you guys did too..so hold on to your hats, here comes round two..

Hello again!  Today’s board was inspired by the tattooed bride in the top left corner – I love the juxtaposition between her tattoo and her pearls, and tried to strike the same balance in my board.  This wedding is elegant and restrained, vintage and at the same time sort of modern, I think.  Try a fabulously feathered headband for the bride, a dark suit and skinny tie for the groom, unexpectedly mod calligraphy on envelopes, and spiky echinacea in square mirrored boxes as centerpieces.  A classic car borrowed from a friend or auto club is a stylish – and inexpensive! – getaway.
