Julie & Chris got married on a hot and sunny rooftop in Philadelphia city centre. They handed their guests colourful parasols to keep them cool which they got from their local Chinatown. Following their intimate ceremony they hired out the second floor of their favourite restaurant Noble which they decorated with DIY flower arrangements, sweet treats and vintage style postcards.

The bride wore Dolce & Gabbana and the Groom looks dapper in DKNY. “In general, we wanted to keep the wedding simple and memorable,” Julie explained. ”Great food, plentiful booze, and our closest friends there to bear witness.  We had thirty guests total.”

“We hired a fantastic guitar player to perform our favorite songs at the ceremony–I walked down the aisle to “I Summon You” by Spoon and afterward it was a great mix of White Stripes, Vampire Weekend, and Arcade Fire as we enjoyed a champagne toast.  We had our friend and brother-in-law Richard ordained to perform the ceremony–he was fantastic.  I decided against bridesmaids, but had my sisters read poems by Ogden Nash throughout the ceremony.  The groom’s father held our rings.”

“The next morning, we attached our “Just Married” sign to our car and headed off to Lake Placid NY for a quick honeymoon.  We had a beautiful time.”

So Michelle & Mike’s engagement sesh was awesome and Michelle’s bridals were totally gorgeous…but you ain’t see nothing yet. Just you check out their wedding!

Their “Rockabilly, car kulture, punk culture, antiques, vintage & neo-traditional design and styling, neo-gothic, country/western, low-brow art, tattoo culture, vintage pin-up/greaser” theme perfectly reflected what they loved and how they live their lives on a daily basis. They were so excited to share this with all their friends and families (and now you Rock n Roll rabble too!)

The whole wedding was perfectly put together and customised by the couple to give the day a truly unique feel. Everything from Michelle’s dress - which she bought as a ‘standard’ dress and had red tulle and the red waist panel added to it and veil – which her Mum made; to the centrepieces – which they made themselves with a mix of antique Coke bottles with sand, red water, a gerbera and curled wood; to the placecards and invitations- which they also made themselves, were unique and interesting.

Be sure to check out the full list of everyone and everything that went into this fabulous wedding after the ‘jump’

The event took place on a beach in Australia and the bride…well…I don’t think words can justify that dress!

The whole wedding party and guests got right into the swing of it, all dressing up in suitably bright colours. Isn’t the result just fantastic!?

Edit: OMG Anya the bride just emailed me the link to her website and blog. Hell you have to shoot over there to see their day after shoot! it’s just as awesome…She has also posts mucho details about their day.
