Orange

I have a cocktail induced sore head today so posting may be lighter and/or make no sense today. I am struggling to string a sentence together…
This shoot by Kelly Moore kind of made my head hurt even more due to all the brightness but I love it too much not to post. Of course there is no relation to weddings at all within this shoot, but it’s so pretty it’s worth a mini deviation.

Vibrant.

Dave & Pam sure let their imagination run wild with their gorgeous wedding at Canada’s Kopje Regional Park. The Bride is particular loves bright colours and so decided to reflect that in their day by organising and designing the whole thing herself.  Her dress was by Maggie Sottero and the awesome stripey cake was made by Wedding Cake Creations.  For the flowers they relied on the expertise of Art Knapp Plantland & Florists, which meant they got the perfect pink, orange and red (who says they don’t go together!?) flower combo to compliment the rest of the decor.

I love their completely non-boring group shots too! The photographers wanted to find something different and were worried that they might not in such a small town. However when driving one day, the spotted the a mechanic’s garage on the side of the highway and after asking a pretty confused owner permission to use the site they had found their perfect spot. The antiquey sofa and the fun masks add a great finish to the shots and transform them into something that is anything but dull.

Thanks to photographers Emmy & Aaron for sharing this hot damn gorgeous wedding with us!

I am dying to go to an Indian wedding one day, all the colour and drama..I love it! So when I found this Indian/Mexican wedding I know it’d be a good one!  Both cultures bring such a sense of their own tradition to this wedding, from the Bride’s awesome custom dress (Namrita had a piece of her Mother’s gold and fuchsia wedding sari sown into the side of her one-of-a-kind gown) to the Mexican-inspired wrought-iron canopy over the dance floor.
This is a truly unique wedding and I love it!

Namrita’s dress was designed and customised by Renella De Fina and the wedding was coordinated by Oh How Charming.

Be Inspired

Happy Monday people!  There are a lot of very exciting things happening at Rock n Roll Bride HQ this week starting with my very first guest blogger. This week – today, Wednesday and Friday, I will be featuring some gorgeous Rock n Roll inspiration boards from the fabulous Emily from Peach & Pearl, designed especially for us.

Also, while I’m at it, a quick reminder that you have 2 days left to get me your final entries for the free wedding photography contest.  We have had some absolutely aaaamazing entries so far and it is proving very difficult to choose the winners!  The winners will be notified sometime this week! woohoo

OK, so on with the inspiration..take it away Emily!

I’m thrilled to be here this week!  I post an inspiration board every Monday on Peach & Pearl, and when I was invited on to guest post, I thought it would be fun to try and combine Kat’s style (in her words: “pink, tattoos, monochrome, vintage, the Wizard of Oz, and brightly colored stuff”) with my more classic and sweet style.  It was a fabulous challenge and I hope you’ll enjoy the results!Ngoc Minh Ngo) in the top left corner.  From there, I put the bride in a bright royal blue dress and the groom in a slim-fitting white dinner jacket.  The slightly-Spanish vibe comes through in the citrus centerpieces, the fruity drinks, and the bright linens – with those colors popping on your tables, what other decor do you need?  Hang cut paper garlands in doorways and line outdoor walkways and ledges with tealights or punched luminarias to create inexpensive atmosphere.
