Moustaches

I have been dying to get the wedding up all day, and I am so excited that it is all now ready to go. Photographer Monika Broz of Project Mad Love sent me these gorgeous images alongside a fantastic overview of their day by the couple, Cori & Rollie. So without further ado…

We wanted to have a relaxed but stylish outdoor wedding with a casual feel in the Lambertville/New Hope area close to where are families are from but not too far from NYC where a lot of our friends are.  I always pictured the sun shining with fluffy clouds and blue skies and kids running around and everyone just kicking back and enjoying the good food and good company.  We chose the Mills for it’s beautiful location on the Delaware River and the charm and history of the buildings. 

We have a lot of family and friends with kids so instead of a bridal party we invited all 32 kids to be in the wedding and walk down the aisle…they all wore white and were rewarded with hand made goodie bags (made by my friend, Nicole and I) with their names on them.  The bags contained custom made aprons from Kimberly (a friend) at Chez Sucrechez and also had pirate eye patches and moustaches, candy necklaces and watches, wax lips, and other treats from Economy Candy in NYC.

My dress was designed by me with the help of my friend, Rose Baron who made the dress.  My vision for my dress was 70s inspired with long, soft sleeves and an empire waist.  I did not want to wear white so we found this great dove grey cotton voile swiss dot fabric at Mood that I loved.  I wanted some pleating detail on the center back and Rose really brought my vision to life!  My headpiece was designed by me and made by my friend, Jenny.  My blue shoes were Chloe.  Rollie’s suit was from Banana Republic and his tie I bought at a vintage store in Rome.

For the flowers, my bouquet was camomile and peonies, the girls carried daisies and camomile and the boys had daisy or camomile boutonnieres.  We had shepard’s hooks with buckets of daisies down the aisle for the ceremony and stood in front of strings of origami doves, symbols of peace and long life together.  The dove garland is handmade in Bangladesh by women in rural villages (www.tenthousandvillages.com) The flowers for the tables were in vintage milk glass vases and were all camomile.

My mom and I made all the table runners from a Denyse Schmidt floral fabric, I made the napkins that had Fortune Teller Fish tied around them, our paper wreath that hung on the mill door we bought on Etsy from a vendor called Haru.  The hand painted signs indicating cocktails, dinner, ceremony, and dancing, were made by my mom.

The 6 cakes and cupcakes were made by my cousin, Linnette Kelly and the clothespin cake topper was made by my mom.
