Her Mother’s Dress

Doesn’t this girl look beautiful in her Mother’s 1970’s country wedding dress. There is something so simple yet so satisfying about these images.

I have been dying to get the wedding up all day, and I am so excited that it is all now ready to go. Photographer Monika Broz of Project Mad Love sent me these gorgeous images alongside a fantastic overview of their day by the couple, Cori & Rollie. So without further ado…

We wanted to have a relaxed but stylish outdoor wedding with a casual feel in the Lambertville/New Hope area close to where are families are from but not too far from NYC where a lot of our friends are.  I always pictured the sun shining with fluffy clouds and blue skies and kids running around and everyone just kicking back and enjoying the good food and good company.  We chose the Mills for it’s beautiful location on the Delaware River and the charm and history of the buildings.

We have a lot of family and friends with kids so instead of a bridal party we invited all 32 kids to be in the wedding and walk down the aisle…they all wore white and were rewarded with hand made goodie bags (made by my friend, Nicole and I) with their names on them.  The bags contained custom made aprons from Kimberly (a friend) at Chez Sucrechez and also had pirate eye patches and moustaches, candy necklaces and watches, wax lips, and other treats from Economy Candy in NYC.

My dress was designed by me with the help of my friend, Rose Baron who made the dress.  My vision for my dress was 70s inspired with long, soft sleeves and an empire waist.  I did not want to wear white so we found this great dove grey cotton voile swiss dot fabric at Mood that I loved.  I wanted some pleating detail on the center back and Rose really brought my vision to life!  My headpiece was designed by me and made by my friend, Jenny.  My blue shoes were Chloe.  Rollie’s suit was from Banana Republic and his tie I bought at a vintage store in Rome.

For the flowers, my bouquet was camomile and peonies, the girls carried daisies and camomile and the boys had daisy or camomile boutonnieres.  We had shepard’s hooks with buckets of daisies down the aisle for the ceremony and stood in front of strings of origami doves, symbols of peace and long life together.  The dove garland is handmade in Bangladesh by women in rural villages (www.tenthousandvillages.com) The flowers for the tables were in vintage milk glass vases and were all camomile.

My mom and I made all the table runners from a Denyse Schmidt floral fabric, I made the napkins that had Fortune Teller Fish tied around them, our paper wreath that hung on the mill door we bought on Etsy from a vendor called Haru.  The hand painted signs indicating cocktails, dinner, ceremony, and dancing, were made by my mom.

The 6 cakes and cupcakes were made by my cousin, Linnette Kelly and the clothespin cake topper was made by my mom.

Thanks so much to Monika, Cori & Rollie for contributing to this post!

Temple Ready

Jenna aka That Bride/That Wife/Jenna Cole Photography coined that phrase when I posted some beautiful long-sleeve wedding dress inspiration a while ago, so now every time I see a long sleeve dress lovely I always feel the need to share them!
I have been lucky enough to chat with the genius behind the lens of these images Evelyn Eslava who in turn chatted to the Bride to get you all the info you could want – Ta Daaaaa…

Where did the wedding took place? Manti Utah LDS temple
Where the dress was from? My Grandma wore it when she got married over 50 years ago, when she passed away I really wanted it and she knew it and knew that I would wear it so it was passed on to me. It fit like a glove we didn’t even have to resize  it. It made me feel like she was there with me
How did you make your wedding special/unique/rock n roll?!  It poured rain. This made it special because during our summer engagement my husband was working long hours at a landscaping job and the only way he would get out of it was when it was raining every night we would say pray for rain so we could spend time together. Then when he proposed he wrote a song and one line said “pray for one more day of rain.” and it says it on the inside of his wedding band, well needless to say we got what we asked for on our wedding day, rain.
Would they have done anything differently? Not a thing. We didn’t had a reception and it really took a lot of stress off of not only me but our parents as well
Did you have a favorite wedding day moment? The actual ceremony was so special how could it not be when were finally married for time and all eternity?

Cute…Thanks Evelyn!

Who could have thought you could have too much amazing wedding inspiration and photography? Certainly not me…but I feel I have been proven wrong. I have been overwhelmed (in a good way!) recently with the amount of amazing amazing (and I mean amazing) stuff you have all been sending me that I am actually struggling to keep up! I am seriously loving it though and I really wish I had more hours in the day so I could get it all up quicker. A huge huge huge thank you to you all..I love you all so much!

Anyway…on with the show..right now, some stunning bridals sent in by Natalie Norton.  The Bride, Nicole, is Natalie’s cousin so she wasn’t actually the offical photographer of their wedding.  How lucky for Nicole to have such a telented cousin for bonus photographs!  Especially as they are as beautiful as these.
