My bestest friend is called Carly so I had an instant affinity to this bridal shoot when I saw it and found out the bride was called Carley (different spelling but same same.) The fact that it’s so damn cool is what makes it instantly blogable. Carley wore a David’s Bridal dress (style 5154, by Michaelangelo) and froliced around a beautiful purple garden for her bridal shoot with Oeil Photography.

Heather & Matt’s wonderful windy beach engagement really shows this couple’s personality. I love it (and I love them – how damn cool/cute/spunky and fun are they?!)
This fun all day trash the dress shoot was sent over by UK photographer Natasha Hurley. I really love seeing the evolution of time throughout these images – from the early morning light in the garden shots, to the late afternoon sun in the graffiti shots and the evening time darkness with the contrast of the artifical lights in the final urban images. Quite apart from that, the bride Miranda looks like she’s having a ball and I love love love her heart shaped pink sunglasses.
“My thought process was for the shoot to have a slightly magical quality with a modern twist” Natasha told me ”It came about after I bought a shockingly bright pink handheld mirror with baroque patterning around it….In the end the mirror only made it in one of the shots (the silhouette of Miranda looking at the mirror), but it was a great starting point I guess. The photos are a mixture of posed shots and those “in between” moments which I love to capture – in this photoshoot they are mainly of Miranda cracking up laughing as passers-by shouted “congratulations” to her!”

Hello and welcome to my little blog. My name is Kat Williams aka the Rock n Roll Bride and my aim is to provide a little haven of kick ass weddingness in a cookie cutter, pastel and often puke-worthy wedding world. If you’ve ever picked up a bridal magazine and felt queasy or trawled the internet and felt disheartened by what you didn’t find well, my friend, you are in the right place!
