Joy.

I have a lot of love for these images. The mish-mash of Vera Wang, flower covered modern invitations, blood red florals, croque en bouche (cake!) and the music makes me a rather happy girlie

Mucho gracias to photographer Lisa for sending this little bit of joy to my inbox today.

I’d just like to start by saying those were the Bride’s words not mine but I like it so I stole it. They started off with wanting a 1920′s theme but once they fell in love with their bright Bridesmaid dressed they knew that was out the window. The theme then morphed to ‘Bonnie & Clyde’ but ended up as ‘whatever the hell was want!’ I like that theme..screw being constrained by any kinda rules!

A few more awesome tips and ideas from the couple…
We made all our paper stuffs – the invitations, programs, placecards, table numbers and photocards. We did everything on a modest budget and still got stuff we wanted. I love my dress – I found it on sale, in perfect condition. Joe picked out his tux on his own and we found a matching fedora for the reception. Our cake topper was custom made to look just like is by Naked Peggies on Etsy. We also picked very random songs to play during the reception. Hardly anyone knew what they were, but we loved them. It kept us dancing the whole night!

And possibly my favourite fact about this wedding…
Did I mention that although we were engaged for over a year, everything changed about 6 weeks out, so we did pretty much everything in a very short period of time? No, well, we did! We were really go-with-the-flow, whatever happens, happens and we didn’t really care about a lot of the details. We didn’t do centerpieces, we had chocolate suckers as favors, and we really didn’t care what anyone wore. It was a very low-key crazy-colorfest!

Methinks we can all learn a lot from this crazy couple..I totally heart them. Thanks Susan & Joe for not only sharing, but proving that stressing about having the ‘perfect’ wedding just doesn’t matter!

Wow…the photographs by the fabulous Kelty of Steep Street Photography for Hannah & Alex’s stag/hen/bachelor/ette parties are so ridiculously rock n roll (you may have seen this couple’s engagement shoot elsewhere – I heart it). Acrylic paint + simple white dress + dancing = a hell lotta rock and a hell lotta roll. Jeez is their wedding going to be the coolest or what?!

Thanks Kelty – these are beyond amazingly cool.

OK so you are going to love this.

We didn’t send out Save the Date’s when we got hitched…it was just another unnecessary job to us, but hell, if we’d known this amazing Save the Date idea was a possibility the outcome might have been slightly different! Wouldn’t this also be a fabulous idea for your invitations or thank you’s? Not only is sending everyone videos instead of a generic card a lot more fun, inventive and..well..rock n roll, but this particular Save the Date laughs in the face of the usual ‘oooh look at us so in love, look at us holding hands’ blegh – it’s all about the Bride to be and her dress! Not to mention the fact that the shoot makes her look like an actual rock star…I just LOVE it!

Sharrone, you guys rocked this! Thanks so much for the share

I’m on a (rock n) roll and I ain’t stopping, especially with these photographs to share - I know you are gonna go crazy over them (yeah I say that a lot but it’s really really true a lot.)

Remember this ridiculously fabulous movie credit style wedding video? The one with the Groom with his sexy voice and the Bride with her awesome tattoos? Sure you do!
Well the couple just got their wedding photographs back and Kate sent them straight over to me..woop woop! I didn’t think it possible after seeing their video, but the photographs are just as fantastic and they really make them look like total rock stars – seriously the most awesomely tattooed couple I’ve ever had the pleasure of blogging!

The couple did a lot of DIY to make their wedding totally their own…
We made all of our centerpieces out of vinyl records, and my husband hand painted/water-colored all of our table numbers. Our favors were temporary tattoos, and then a some of our friends that are also artists, painted “wedding related” pieces and we made them into stickers. We also built the altar.

Clicky here fore more (164 images!) Unfortunatly too many for even me to post!

The couple also have a watercolour and jewellery etsy store which you really must check out too. OK on to the good stuff!
