Sugabilly Bridal

There’s a little bit of a story behind the finding of this fabulous shoot and I thought in sharing it’s gorgeousness I could also explain how it came to land in my inbox.

As many of you know, my husband Gareth is an IT wizz and works from home. As sad as it may be, we love to watch Working Lunch together when I’m not at ‘the day job’. One such afternoon there was a feature on Emma Jones of Enterprise Nation who works with 5-9 ers – ie people who are mad like me, work a full time job and run their own business from home too. So Gareth turns to me and says “You should drop her an email” and so I did.  Making this connection has been fabulous for me as not only have I been featured on her site, am being used a case study in her upcoming book (hell to the yeah!) but she sends me regular updates on awesome other 5-9 ers that she thinks I need to know.  LeKeux Events was one of these companies. As soon as I landed on their website I knew we’d be a perfect match and after speaking to Lyndsey over email it turned out that she already reads my blog!

A Mystical Fairytale

Anyone that has been reading Rock n Roll Bride for some time now will know that I have a bit of an unhealthy obsession with the MangoRED boys. The brothers from The Philippines never fail to blow me away with the ingenious eye behind on every shoot or wedding they capture.

How is photography like this even possible?! I literally have no words…

Retro & Real

I thought I’d start today off with a little bit of sexiness…why the hell not huh? Gotta love the retro and ‘real’ feel these have. I have another session from photographer Laura waiting in the wings which is another seriously sexy one…eeek I can’t wait to share!

Emotional & Theatrical

Classy, elegant, retro. These are the words that came to me as soon as I saw Rebecca & Justin’s 1950s inspired engagement session. The shoot took place at The Ritz Ybor in downtown Tampa, a venue which perfectly reflected photographer Alicia’s vision for the session. Rebecca’s polka dot dress was from PinUp Girl Clothing and Justin looked the part in his trilby hat (which retails at $75 but he picked up for $6!) and waistcoat combo.

A Bit Of Edge

This glamorous shoot certainly has the rock n roll edge that I adore. From her Pnina Tornai dress to her glitter ball ring and long pearl necklaces (from Forever 21), sparkly eyeshadow, fabulous flower and birdcage veil hairpieces and that slightly odd but decidely awesome flower arrangement (put together by Apotheca Flower Shoppe) I certainly love a bit of edge with my bridal shoots.

Thanks to Diane for sending me these

Another of my most favourite photographers (gah there are so many of you!) Noa of Feather Love Photography, had just re-launched her website and blog and has posted some absolutely amazing new engagements (of Emilia from Veiled Vows & Auburn and Ivory no less!) to boost.  Go check out her sparkly new site in a second..but first of all check out these little beauties right here.

I got a lovely email from Jeremy Lawson thanking me for featuring his super-cool ‘I want to lick your face’ photograph and telling me to feel free to use anymore of his work…so I’m gonna!
I couldn’t choose just one wedding as he seems to be a very lucky photographer indeed and gets a wealth of amazingly cool and rock n roll couples to shoot, therefore stand by for the first post of many – first up Dan and Dwyer.

I picked this wedding for 3 reasons…the gorgeous vintage styling (i.e the way-to0-beautiful Bride + veil + dress + ugg boots!) the old Hollywood feel and that amazing wallpaper! I love it used as a mock-photobooth – awesome, gorgeous, fun!
