Older Is Better

Leo Patrone is one of those photographers I really admire.  I check his site often just hoping for a new little bit of wedding joy to share with you, and today I got lucky!

For some reason I have been all about the vintage/old looking photography today…I don’t know why, I’m just being really drawn to it (to top it off Kathryn @ Snippet&Ink posted a gorgeous wedding today using Poladroid to generate faux Polaroid images of the day – oh how much fun I had after I downloaded that application!)
But anyway, as usual I digress…let’s just enjoy the wonderful Holga goodness of these photographs.

I really try not to have favourites – I feel like a Mother favouring one child over another…but I’m afraid I have to admit, Tara Kneiser of Dixie Pixel is probably one of my all time favourite photographers and blogging buddies (sssh! Oh God, now I feel totally guilty!)

We met (as in online met) probably about a year ago when the old (RIP) Rock ‘n Roll Bride was still going, and I remember Tara telling me how she was desperate to shoot a really Rock ‘n Roll wedding…well finally I think she has got her wish!
Tara uses a combination of Holga and digital work, creating a unique and beautiful perspective of the world and a totally different take on the usual wedding photography.

The main reason she sent me this wedding was due to the shoes!  How on earth did she know I would love them?!

Dixie Pixel

Its hard for me to pick only a few images from Dixie Pixel’s website..even just limiting myself to one wedding proved too difficult for words. I kept scrolling down the page and seeing more more more I love love love…and this is possibly the most photographs I’ve posted in one blog post! I usually try to limit myself to 5 or 6 images per post but sorry not today…

The photographer behind all this porn is Tara Kneiser. She emailed me to tell me how much she loved my blog (woot woot) and also to give me some extra info about her photographs. The last 3 (grainy) of these photos (flipping gorgeous!) was actually shot on film (big it up – so was our wedding). I love the grainy rawness of it all. They were taken with a Holga Camera, which retails for about $30.00 – how awesome is that!?

So in conclusion…Tara, Rock and Roll Bride salutes you – bloody marvelous! Now can we see some photographs of your own tattooed wedding now..pretty pleeeeese?

All photo credit goes to Tara Kneiser
Now please excuse me while I go back here and check out every single photograph!
