With Christmas literally hours away (eeek) you’d be forgiven for thinking I’d be winding down for the year and blog land would slowly have become a lonely little place. Naaahh my darlings! I have found a bumper number of awesomeness to share with you, to round off your pre-Crimbo week with a BANG. This may actually be the biggest Thursday Treat ever. I’ll be talking a few days off for Christmas but will be back early next week as usual. The posts may come a bit for sparsely but I will certainly be here. 1920’s Glamour Puss

This stunning vintage shoot was put together by Vicky Rowe ( Styling) of Vintage Teasets, Bella & Fifi and Floriture (flowers),  Clifton Cakes and photographer Rosie Parsons. Other shout outs needed for the fabulous hair and make up gals - Donna Owens, Sarah Brock & Becky Simpson.

One of the best things about this whole set has got to be the fabulous fashion huh? It looks so authentic and wonderfully unique. They used reproduction and actual vintage dresses supplied by Lindsay Fleming, Elizabeth Avey and Leluxe Clothing. The awesome feathered and diamante head pieces were supplied by Sheena Holland (the crochet wire knit pieces were supplied with the Lindsay Fleming dresses).and wait for it – original 1920’s Manolo Blahniks! Oh hell yes! Well done to everyone involved – truly a triumph.

Classy & Funky

Who says your wedding has to have one theme?! What I love about Simon & Cherie’s day is while there are certainly traditional and classic elements to this wedding, it’s the funky and personal touches that make it really rock. The scooter complete with the ‘just tied the…’ sign, the bride’s purple flower in her hair and the groom’s fabulous suit and braces…and of course their beyond kick ass rings! The pair actually had other rings for their ‘real’ wedding rings but they used these for their ceremony…apparently the priest nearly had a heart attack when he saw them!

Sweet Tooth

I actually featured newbie photographer Shannon McLaughlin’s own wedding  waaaay back in February - many of you may recognise her as Mrs Candy Corn from Wedding Bee. Well, like many of us recent brides, the thought of giving up all things wedding once she’d tied the knot was too much to bear so she decided to venture into wedding photography herself…and oh how pleased we are that she did! She has only had her professional camera for a little over a month and look how awesome she is already!

The recently engaged Veronika & Bryan acted as models for this shoot. Veronika owns her own vintage shop called Sweet Tooth Vintage through the fabulous Etsy so she had lots of amazing outfits to wear. I am also loving the various props and locations used for this shoot – an environmental centre in Philadelphia, the couple’s own home (including their insane number of pets!) and a cuuuute tandem bike!

Contrast & Style

This Australian wedding blew me away as soon as I laid eyes on that dress! Shannon & Carl got married in Brisbane and had a vintage glam wedding full of quirky and classically styled delights. I am loving the multi-layered, uber cute Paul Hunt dress and accessories that Shannon rocked (including her amazing bouquet – le swoon indeed.) Her shoes were from Miu Miu and her beautiful hairpiece was found at Chelsea De Luca. The bridesmaids looked equally vintage-gorgeous in their dresses by The Magical Adventures of Dolly. The locations are to die for – the  glamorous ceremony venue, the Tattersall’s Club, contrasts perfectly with rough ‘n ready portrait site and the super trendy, waterside reception which took place at Riverlife, the old Naval Stores beside the Brisbane River. A wedding of contrasts and a wedding of style.

Steam Punk

I have to say, I don’t really know what steam punk is…but from what I gather it’s this – a mad hatter, crazy colour, super duper ott, satin, goggled, gothic extravaganza! Is that somewhere close?

I don’t get to feature enough gothic style weddings so when Carmel & Drynn’s rustic yet opulent gothic affair landed on my desk I jumped at the chance to share these.

The Bride told me…
I found my dress at Gothic Wedding Dresses and our flowers were done by Punch Portland. The inspiration for our theme was based on Tim Burton-esque Sleepy Hollow, classic Victorian but with a dark feel. We are kind of “darker” individuals so we wanted that reflected but wanted to do it in a classy tasteful way. We didn’t want to scare our guests too much! We picked Drynn’s hat up at a vintage store the feather piece & my headpieces were done by Cricket Quills.

Vintage Glam & Fun

Chris & Carly’s vintage glam wedding was planned with fun in mind..that was it – lets have a blast! The pair didn’t want traditions or fuss to play a part, instead focusing on great style (white bridesmaid dresses oh yes!), a ton of character and a party that they could claim as their own.
