Funfairs may have been ‘done’ in terms of what the cool kids say is ‘in’ but who gives a monkey’s about what they think? It’s the same with balloons, candy floss and even sun flair…pah I say to that! The funfair is the perfect backdrop for an engagement shoot – fun, colourful, playful and prop city! I want a photo shoot in at a fun fair in fact. Any offers?!

Carnival weddings always make me smile. Jenna & Tommy’s wedding is no different.
I thought I’d share another wedding with you that I did this summer. The bride’s last name was Morrissey which made me instantly think of The Smiths (one of my most favorite bands ever). Jenna and Tommy were married in Providence, RI in Roger Williams Park. Their inspiration was that of a 1950’s carnival complete with carousel, penny candy and popcorn. The bride stole away during the reception to change into a pink vintage dress to surprise her new husband. Their first dance? “There is a Light That Never Goes Out” by The Smiths. Perfectly sweet.

I saw a feathery sneak peak of Mary & Stephan’s engagement session on their wedding coordinator’s website and immediately shot and email to Erin & Court asking if I could blog them when they were all ready. Lucky for me they were of course delighted and I got the email this morning to tell me they were up.

Check out Janet & Cody’s engagement session at Kern County Fair…Nope, not bored of fun fair shoots yet!
They were such a cute and fun couple to work with. Lots of electricity between them! Anytime I asked them to look at each other, a few clicks of the shutter later and they’d be kissing!

So it turns out you all loved the top 20 huh? Well I did too and to be honest it was really blooming difficult to narrow it down to just 20…fancy seeing 20 more then? I’ve only featured weddings that are older than about 4 months (past 50 pages in – there are well over 100 pages of old posts on this site…oh yes!) because otherwise I would have been here forever. Some of these you may have seen before and some I’m sure you certainly won’t have. That is the beauty of the top 20! Again, let me know what you think…

Lisa & Geoff are awesome. So awesome in fact that my friends over at 100 Layer Cake also realised their awesomeness and have blogged their entire wedding over on their site today. Right here though I’m all about their amazing day after shoot at The California State Fair. I’m pretty sure the fairground photo shoot sinario is one I’m not going to tire of easily – so much colour and fun!
Thanks to the lovely Sarah for sending these in and thanks to Jillian over at 100 Layer Cake for working with me on this feature – be sure to go check out their post asap!

Krista & Uryah had a 1920s style wedding in Snohomish, WA. As a professional seamstress, Krista planned and DIY’d the majority of wedding herself. I have a whole lot of love for this set - her shoes, her back lace umbrella, the cigarette holders – classy and wonderful!

Funfair? Check… Balloons? Check…Adorable couple? Check…That gorgeous streaming Californian light? Check!
It seems I will never tire of this scenario for an engagement shoot – it really shows the a fun side to any couple that just can’t help but make me smile – especially that ’slide’ shot – how much fun does that look?! Oh how I love it so…

Erika & Jamie’s funfair engagement session is too damn cute. The best thing about a shoot at the fair? That there are awesome props everywhere!
Thanks to Kate for sharing these.

This sugary sweet engagement session is full of fun and frolics and I have been dying to get these up all day. Bridget and Dan chose Balboa Island for their shoot as they will be getting married there in September at her grandparents house. The candy bouquet was quickly put together by the photographer, Crissy after she saw them in cute little bunches at a local shop, and the stick on moustaches were bought on Etsy.
Thanks to Crissy for sharing these sweet as cherry pie shots with me!
ps you have until Monday to enter the fabulous Tinywater photography contest, so get those entries in – it could be yooou!
