There’s a mini golf course on Panama City Beach, Florida, unlike all others… it’s full of dinosaurs! Shelly and David wanted somewhere unique to shoot their engagement photos and this was the perfect place. A little bit unusual but totally beautiful to boot!
“They both are super out-going and full of personality”, wrote their photographer Autumn. “So the two combined were a perfect match. I really wanted to portray them as a couple, hone in on their relationship, emotions, and love for one another. For once, I didn’t do much stylizing for this shoot, because the location was already enough, I just had to get them there and in front of the camera. I was very excited about this shoot plus, they knew all these secret spots at the golf course for getting the best photos!”
When it came to shooting Rachael (from Maui) and Jake’s (from Florida) engagement shoot, where else could be as perfect as on the beach? “These guys are all about the beach and rock the surf style,” said photographer Wendy Laurel. “I mean who else wears their bikini on their engagement shoot? The shoot was at one of their favorite beaches on Maui, Ironwoods, and in the Honolua Valley (next to the famed Honolua Bay). Both places are on the upper west side of Maui where lots of good surf and a large surf community can be found.”
These shots are certainly a perfect reflection of the couple and their everyday style. They will be getting married at a private residence overlooking the ocean later this year.
This awesome punk inspired wedding was actually a faux-wedding – a photo shoot set up by stylist MMD Events, blogger Lauren of Every Last Detail and photographer’s Jeff & Anna Katherine of K&K Photography. They wanted to showcase some awesome alternative wedding styling and they certainly achieved that. I am totally smitten and almost a little upset that it isn’t a real wedding – this looks like the kind of party I want to go to!
“We put together this Punk inspiration shoot with the focus all around the *actual* definition of the word “punk”, courtesy of Every Last Detail’s Wedding Style Dictionary,” explained Lauren. “Pulling inspiration from the Dia de los Muertos (day of the dead), punk rock (of course), a little southern California “border-town-cool”, and rockabilly, we wanted the shoot to evoke what the actual “punk” lifestyle is. Our goal was to let brides know that punk can be pretty- not the cliche dark gothic look. We created a “punk” look that was pretty, colorful, and fun, just like the punk lifestyle is!”
The shoot took place at Tampa Armature Works Building in Florida and pretty much all the clothes were either thrifted or found very cheaply. This just goes to show that with a bit of imagination and creativity you CAN have a really Rock n Roll wedding without breaking the bank. I love this A LOT!
Be sure to also check out the FAB video after the ‘jump.’ Gotta love the Elvis dude!
Steve & Kelly’s November wedding took place in Florida at Omni Orlando Resort. The theme for the day was butterflies, in memorial of Kelly’s Papa who had passed away 5 years earlier. As well as wearing the bride wearing a butterfly bracelet and flowers in her hair, the couple released butterflies in his memory.
At the reception the couple filled the room with details that meant a lot to them – fish in the centrepieces for good luck and tattoo details becuase they are both heavilty tattooed. Each table was also given a name that meant a lot to the couple.
“Tattoos are something steve and I both enjoy and wanted to make it a part of our wedding,” explained Kelly. “We knew we didn’t want a traditional wedding, but still wanted to keep it elegant. Our planner and our vendors all made our vision become a reality and we have gotten nothing but great feedback from our friends and family. Everyone saw our personality in ever detail of our wedding.”
Amanda & Marcel’s Florida engagement session was a gift from their friend Mireya at Axiom Photo Studio. “From the moment Marcel and I got engaged, Mireya called us up and said…’I have a vision’ ” Amanda told me. “She told us where and when to meet and she would take care of the rest. I decided to hit up a few Goodwill stores the night before and ended up getting my entire wardrobe for under $20. She knew she wanted to capture “us” and “Miami” and she really did. She took us to some kick-ass graffiti walls in Wynwood and then we traveled back to Little Havana for some cafecito. The whole shoot took about four hours and we all had a blast (including our 2 chihuahuas).”
I have totally fallen in love with this classy, mermaid-looking sparkle-fest of a green dress – can you blame me?! It’s by Jovani and would be perfect for a bride who doesn’t want to wear white!
