Kat

October 19, 2009

Carly & James were describes to me by their photographer Dani as'a couple of badasses who wed like rockstars' and after seeing these and their wedding (coming up next) I have to agree wholeheartedly. Their engagement shoot took place at a variety of their favourite spots all around Fresno. They set off at 9am withBloody Mary's in hand and visited thrift stores, favourite bars, some cornfields...to name a few! It must have been an exhausting day but the results are a fabulous array of eclectic style! Thanks to the wonderful Dani for sending these over...eeek their wedding is coming right up!

Iconic Californian photographer and blog land favourite, Stephanie Williams, was kind enough to let me be the first to share this beautiful new engagement session she just shot with husband, and business partner, Issac. Naoko & Taejo's shoot is fit to bursting with colour and fun, who could ever been uncheered by jelly babies and balloons!? Thanks so much to Stephanie & Issac for sharing with me! Mwah... Cuteness Indeed

I seem to be getting sent a lot of cuuute engagement sessions recently and this submission from Ashley & Stephanie of the gorgeously named White Rabbit Studios is no different. Amy & Randall had this fun and offbeat session in North Alabama with their friends and photographers (having photographer friends really is the best!) and I think they turned out great. The two are very unique and Amy brought a slew of props to play with during the session. We swooned as Randall serenaded the woman he loves, and giggled as they kissed in between their sips on wine. Thanks to all involved for sharing these with us. Simply stunning! Credit: White Rabbit Studios

Tyson & Courtney are a quirky and creative couple and so what else would be perfect for their wedding than what full of quirks and creating! The event took place at the house and yards of The Dana Powers House in Nipomo, where the couple made the day their own with all the personal touches. Thanks to the lovely Beth for sharing these with me and yes I am waiting to hear who made the dress right now! Fret not... Credit: Bath Armsheimer Photography

With Flair.

Melinda & Chris had a beeeautiful wedding at Hastings House, Salt Spring Island, BC. Mindy looked beyond stunning in her grey Badgley Mischka dress and her enviable red Mui Mui shoes. Is she the ultimate rock n roll bride or what? The whole wedding certainly had rock n roll flair, with close family and friends along for the ride. The Seattle based couple choose the venue for it's stunning ocean view and and spectacular surroundings. Photographer Angela described the event as lots of fun, champagne, good food, laughs, music, tattoos, singing + love, yet with elegance, beauty and color. Thank you Angela for sharing this gooorgeous day with us! Credit: Hubbard Photography

Effortlessly Cool

Kat

September 18, 2009

I got sent this last night by the super lovely Alison and I have been dying to share them! Abby & Josh are one of those effortlessly cool couples aren't they? They look like they look this stylish every day of their lives. The shoot took place at Abby's parents farm as they have acres of unused land. She wore two vintage dresses and Josh chose a shirt that showed off his tattoos (no complaints over here!) This shoot only took place 2 days ago so I am honoured and excited that Alison deemed me worthy of blogging them right away! Thank you so much for sending them to me.

Fresh New Talent

I am on a blogging roll this morning hey? Can't stop now though, I've got Keith & Rachel's amazing engagements to show you. The couple (who I swear to God should be models) will actually be getting married at the exact location of this shoot. Keith is a tattoo artist and did the awesome sleeve on Rachel's arm. I was shocked to hear that Corin's photography had never been blogged before - it is stunning! I am super excited to be the first wedding blog to share her work with the world. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of her.

The Shoot That Almost Never Was

Kat

September 9, 2009

Suzy & Gerard actually got married in 2005 but still wanted a day (years!?) after shoot with the amazingly talented Megan Welker- well who wouldn't! They almost had a disaster with the dress however as after Suzy got it back from the cleaners she discovered they had taken out all of the puckers making those stunning billowy pleats,OMG cricis!! Luckilythey knew a fabulous seamstress who painstakingly put them all back in for the shoot. It almost never happened and that would have been a travesty! Thanks to Megan for allowing me to share. Woodstock Wedding

Kat

September 5, 2009

Oh. My. GOD! This hippy chic, picnic stylee wedding with a woodstock vibe is nothing short of phenomenal. Finding amazing hidden gems like this has got to be one of my favourite things to do. I feel as though I have unearthed a complete treasure. Forget everything you think you know about weddings. This celebration makes all that seem futile. Can you imagine being there? Cramming into a tiny tent, siting on your friends laps or on the floor just to see your best friend's get married. She's wearing a stunning vintage gown (which the little girls all clearly adore!) and he's wearing a fabulouslyretro velvet suit. And the car...and the swing...and the random panda head...oooh oooh oooooh! I want to go and run around a field like a child and celebrate the joy of love right now... Credit: Cory Kennedy

Avant-Garde

Kat

September 3, 2009

Texan born, UK based photographer Tami Curtis has a style like no one else I've seen. The techniques used give each image a distressed feel like they literally are images from the 1920's but with a real avant-garde feel. This style of photography wouldn't be everyone's choice for their wedding album but it's a style I can't help but be drawn to. Be sure to take the time to check out Tami's blog, Pulp Fiction, for more vintage gorgeousness! Thanks to Tami for sending me Eve's gorgeous bridal session Credit: Tami Curtis/Jane's Attic

The World Is Our Living Room

Kat

September 3, 2009

Cyrus & Kiss (I kid you not - cutest names ever!) had a 'the world is our living room' themed engagement shoot. Along with their photographers, they lugged a sofa (actually from the photographer's house!) into the back of a truck and drove to their location. When they got there they only wished they had also brought the TV and maybe a lamp or two to complete the set! Thanks to Paul for sending these to me. Love the album cover feel these have...
