Elegant Red, White and Blue Wedding: Cameron & Lizzy

Somerset-Wedding-Photography-Caro-Hutchings-284

Cameron and Lizzy chose a red, white and blue colour palette for their August wedding. Starting with the bride’s stunning bespoke gown and the groom’s three-piece suit, it then filtering though to the hydrangeas and rose arrangements, and finally the attendant’s clothes.

“There was no single theme for the wedding, but rather a sense that we wanted people to be wowed all over again as they moved from space to space”, began the bride. “The ceremony was all red, white and blue – very British. We had big hydrangeas and red roses in crates and flowerpots, and the bridal party and groomsmen all decked out in the same. For the afternoon tea in the ballroom, we took Brympton‘s 2,000-piece tea set as a starting point and created a very eclectic and vintage-y look. Then, for the evening reception in the orangery, we went for a gentleman’s club feel – lots of jewel colours, plush furnishings and bits and bobs raided from my parent’s house.”

Elaborate 1940s Vintage Castle Wedding: Christina & Richard

Eastnor Castle wedding 100

It’s not often I get to feature such grand weddings, but that doesn’t mean my heart didn’t skip a beat when I laid eyes on Christina and Richard’s epic Eastnor Castle celebration. Three wedding dresses, a custom Choccywoccydoodah cake, elaborate vintage styling and an impressive fireworks display really made this a wedding to remember!

“Vintage weddings are so popular these days but both myself and Richard have a love for 1940s music and lindy-hop dancing so decided this was the perfect theme for us”, Christina began. “We had a 1940s vintage theme with a touch of 1930s in the wedding attire for bride and groom, and vintage Hollywood style over dinner. We kept the details of the day secret from most guests, so the element of surprise as lots of different things happened throughout the day kept guests excited and entertained. The fireworks reflecting over the lake was the winning highlight for the guests as well as an extra hog roast as second dinner.”

Elegant & Dramatic Sapphire Wedding: Rochelle & Nestle

sblue_PVP45

Rochelle & Nestle were married at Transfiguration Chapel of Caleruega in The Philippines. Although their wedding started off traditionally with a church service, the couple wanted the rest of the day to reflect their own styles. So they went for a dramatic but elegant blue colour scheme with touches of yellow. The bride wore blue ballerina shoes which she customised herself, the bridesmaids and flowergirls wore various shade of sapphire and the groom and his groomsmen had blue bow ties.

Rochelle’s email to me was simple. “We would like to thank Rock n Roll Bride because you’ve been a huge inspiration to us. You made us aware of the trends and the things we can do except from the traditional wedding. You helped us push ourselves to do the extremes and make us think that the things we thought could not be done are actually possible.”

Elegant Tim Burton Inspired Wedding Inspiration

Burton-esque_Plum_Wedding_Photography Smiths035

Starting with rich in shades of plum alongside black and gold, The Photography Smiths and stylist Anthomanic, created some regal wedding inspiration with an edge of Tim Burton. The dramatic and quirky set design included odd shaped vintage furniture, lace wedding dresses with dramatic mermaid silhouettes, black & white stripes, mini top hats and milk & cookies as favours.

The milk bottles were sprayed gold and wrapped in pieces of lace and ribbon, and the bouquet was accented with plums.

Tim Burton is a popular starting point for Rock n Roll Brides but I love how this shoot shows the idea with a more regal and elegant look. What do we think? The perfect twist for a gothic wedding maybe?
