I am loving this rockin’ wedding. It’s all about the personal touches (again!) which you know I am loving. As the Bride is a pastry chef she wore cupcake socks (cute!)
Enjoy these…I am looking forward to Rebecca of RAH Photography sending me many more weddings like this to feature! (Or if like me you are completely impatient, go check out her blog!)

I shouldn’t really be all bloggy on my birthday but I just love you all too much…and I love this wedding too much to wait until tomorrow..I have to get it out there right now!
I found this wedding via Offbeat Bride’s Flickr pool (it’s an amazing resource for finding wicked weddings, but I’m assuming most of you already know that!) Anyway, as soon as I saw this wedding I emailed the Bride, Kelly straight away demanding to be allowed to feature it on here…and she was more than happy for me too…wooohooo!
I’m going to hand right over to Kelly at this point, because in her own words she loves talking about her wedding!
We started planning a very traditional wedding but it never seemed
“right” for us. So my man gave me full control and said “make it feel
like us”. I changed the location to New York City (that’s were we
live) and decided the day would be family only. (Later, we had a
party for friends in New York and both our hometowns)
The day started by taking a black limo to Brooklyn Bridge, to take
pictures. After that, we headed to the court house, downtown
Manhattan to have the civil ceremony. Another black limo took all of
the guests to meet us at the court house. We got married about 1:00
pm on Friday, March 20 in a very short little ceremony. Then we all
headed to Alice’s Tea Cup on 64th where we had rented a room upstairs.
It was so darling!! We had different types of finger sandwiches,
crazy scones, tons of little deserts and unlimited tea. Our cake was
a one-layered yellow cake with buttercream frosting and the grooms
“cake” was really a red velvet cupcake (his favorite). My cake topper
was a vintage 1950′s wedding couple. My favors were vintage tea cups
with little gold bags of loose tea (Wedding Chai) wrapped in pink
tulle and ivory ribbons. By 7:00 pm, my new husband and I were at the
airport to leave on our honeymoon. It was a perfect day!
A highlight: When we stood in front of the court house, right after
the ceremony to take pictures, a NYPD traffic cop took our picture
with her cell phone. Then she looked at it, smiled and said it was
the best wedding she had ever seen!
Now here is good stuff:

Prolong Wear by MAC–I get asked that a lot)

Maid of Honor: Dress, Betsey Johnson
Hat, bracelets, earrings: ReVamp
Shoes: Christian Dior
Make up: All MAC Cosmetics. (Lip color: Melrose Mood)
Groom: Suit, Tie: Gucci

Ring: Heirloom (Great grandfathers’ ring)

Thank you for letting me share this with you! I am very excited that
people liked what I did, because I was getting a bit of flack from
some friends about not being “traditional”. I only did and wore what
I loved; that is what made my wedding authentic. I would hope to
inspire other brides to ignore the critics and go with their own sense
of style.
Thanks so much for sharing Kelly. You all simply must head over here to check out the rest of her ridiculously gorgeous wedding! (and here for her Vintage, Remade, Re-inspired and Occasionally Sparkly etsy shop!)

I am super excited today as not only have I got a plethora of amazing stuff to share with you in the next few days but myself and David have decided the winners of the free wedding photography contest! I will be announcing the winners on here as soon as I have told them!
I really loved featuring Emily’s first inspiration board on Monday and it seemed you guys did too..so hold on to your hats, here comes round two..
Hello again! Today’s board was inspired by the tattooed bride in the top left corner – I love the juxtaposition between her tattoo and her pearls, and tried to strike the same balance in my board. This wedding is elegant and restrained, vintage and at the same time sort of modern, I think. Try a fabulously feathered headband for the bride, a dark suit and skinny tie for the groom, unexpectedly mod calligraphy on envelopes, and spiky echinacea in square mirrored boxes as centerpieces. A classic car borrowed from a friend or auto club is a stylish – and inexpensive! – getaway.

Hello and welcome to my little blog. My name is Kat Williams aka the Rock n Roll Bride and my aim is to provide a little haven of kick ass weddingness in a cookie cutter, pastel and often puke-worthy wedding world. If you’ve ever picked up a bridal magazine and felt queasy or trawled the internet and felt disheartened by what you didn’t find well, my friend, you are in the right place!
