Gay wedding, Civil partnership, Wedding…the terminology doesn’t mean s*** to me. A wedding is a wedding and that’s that. The amazingly glam Brighton wedding of Matt & Leon was sent over by their photographer Lisa Devlin and I lapped up all the gorgeous details…who needs a bride!?

Leon & Matt got married on the anniversary of when they met and they day was a pretty memorable one! They squeezed into a stretch Hummer with their 8 bridesmaids, 3 flowergirls and the ring bearer for the short journey to Stanmer House near Brighton. Their ceremony was conducted by candlelight by a Registrar called Mr Love (!) and featured some incredible live singers.

I’ve got a second British post for your today – and this time it’s Miriam & Bruce’s art deco/speakeasy/1920s-30s inspired wedding. The event took place at The Brickhouse, Brick Lane, London which is in the heart of the city’s uber cool East End and was complete with monochromatic colour scheme, gambling tables and cheeky burlesque entertainment. Miriam & Bruce had a humanist ceremony in front of their guests before kicking off a night of unashamed debauchery! Female guests were treated to a black or white feather fan on arrival, and the gents mini bottles of Jack Daniels and chocolate cigars.

Miriam wore a dress and ostrich feather shrug from the fabulous Joanna Fleming Design and birdcage veil from Jane Taylor Millinery.

Neil & Hayley wed at The Rare Breeds animal farm, in Ashford Kent on the probally wettest day of the year! All was not lost however as not only to Hayley get to rock her bridal look with some wellies, but the laid back couple just took it in their stride.

Jenna & Michael had a fabulously quirky, kooky and personally rockin’ wedding two weeks ago and the every lovely Love Me Do Photography were there to capture the entire thing. The couple put a lot of work into the day with DIY projects a-plenty. “We wanted our wedding to be very classic looking, but still have a whimsical picnic, day dreamy kind of day feeling” the couple explained and they certainly achieved this with ideas such as the wishing tree – handmade bird silhouettes pinned into flocks and hung from the branches – which was used instead of a guestbook and the funky chocolate moustaches that certainly made for some great pictures and were provided by Pink, White, Brown.

Have you been eagerly sitting by your computer waiting for the next installment of Teneisha & Chris’ crazy-gorgeous wedding extravaganza? I certainly have..every 5 minutes I’ve been checking my email to see if the rest of the photographs have been sent to me…sad? yes, yes I am.
Now if you thought their engagement shoot was to die for then you ain’t seen nothing yet!

I’m actually going to stop gabbing on about it and hand straight over to the couple who have described their wedding and their idea of what makes a rock n roll wedding absolutely perfectly…

The objective for our wedding, besides getting married, was about two things. The first was a goal that every single person have a completely kick ass time, including ourselves, and the second being that we would do things our way, no questions asked. We solved the “having fun” issue pretty easily by getting married on a Saturday evening, in Las Vegas; with a premium open bar and an excellent ipod play list. We served sushi and had chocolate covered strawberries instead of cake at our reception and had an open invitation after-party with a bathtub full of beer and debauchery that lasted until 5am.  We also encouraged people to get creative with the dress code, which produced a very colorful crowd.

I think that our Bride and Groom outfits helped to set the right mood as well.  I wore a vintage inspired, Sherri Hill polka dotted blue/gold/silver dress with all bright red accessories that I either made myself or bought from independent artists on etsy.com. I had the dress shortened from ballroom to tea length, which everyone tried to talk me out of and I’m so glad I didn’t listen! The groom wore crazy blue pants, suspenders, a fedora and an awesome bow tie that matched my dress perfectly.

You love this couple right? Yeah me too. Again, I can’t thank Teneisha & Chris’ and their wonderful photographer Holly Jones enough for sharing this amazing wedding with me!
