What’s not to love about this shoot? Alex & Kaori’s downtown LA engagement session was the perfect expression of who they are as a couple – lovers of LA and fashion (they are both designers.) I will never stop loving the Vivienne Westwood Lady Dragon shoes (I have them in yellow & black) and Alex’s fabulous red & white checked shirt and black bow tie combo. In fact this pair have got to be some serious fashion inspiration to at least a few of you!
My mind is a-whirring with reflections of 2009, my plans for 2010 and where the Rock n Roll Bride train might take me (read: us – you’re coming on that trip with me, right?) but fret not, I am still here sharing the prettiness I know you all adore until I come up with my masterplan…just hang tight.
Cassie & Bryce are cuteness. That is all.
Funfairs may have been ‘done’ in terms of what the cool kids say is ‘in’ but who gives a monkey’s about what they think? It’s the same with balloons, candy floss and even sun flair…pah I say to that! The funfair is the perfect backdrop for an engagement shoot – fun, colourful, playful and prop city! I want a photo shoot in at a fun fair in fact. Any offers?!
We love rock stars here at Rock n Roll Bride so when Brodie-Ann & Glen from the band Felinedown sent me their Johnny & June Cash inspired engagement shoot all the way from Brisbane…well you know where I’m going! Love love love them…
The awesome Marianne Taylor (who shot my pinky, punky princess shoot) just sent me a selection of her most recent engagement sessions and Sam & Adam’s jumped out at me right away. Not only have I got a unhealthy obsession with toy cameras right now (they used a Diana camera as a prop) but the couple are just to damn right funky for words.

Addie & Dave are just wicked! As photographer Channing Johnson told me, “the groom being a musician and having a lot of past and present band-member guests make them a very rock n roll couple! They also looked fab with their tattoos and bangs.” Good enough for me!
Well you lucky lucky things, have I got some adorable images to share with you today, starting with Jenna & Mike and their way-too-frickin’-cute park/picnic/vintage bike/doggie/awesome tattoo themed engagement session. The couple are getting married in September and the phenomenal Love Me Do Photography will be doing the photographic honours (I ♥  them!) but for now, be patient and enjoy these gorgeous engagements shot by Melissa Rae Kurzenski.

Bess & Matt…ahh what can I really say what would do justice to the images I see before me?
The couple wed at Ridley Creek State Park with an amazing outdoorsy, rustic style fest. Of course Bess’ tattoos and Matt’s ‘tache are what did it for me. Not to mention the dress by Megin Sherry, the check shirt (wow this Groom has some serious style) the casual garden flowers provided by Amanda Staples, the peacock earrings, the trilby hat and the cupcakes…oh yes Bess & Matt are just too stylish for me.

Emma & Chris had their engagement shoot at home with the french bulldog Colby for company. Chris’ sister photographed them using film and digital to get these great shots. I have had such a resurgence of love for film photography recently, I am loving reliving days gone by with the gorgeousness of real film photography so these are right up my street. Don’t this look like they are literally living in the 1970’s? I ♥ it!

Janel & Jim are one of those couple’s the completely ooze cool. Their retro style – vespas, rockabilly hair, vans, pin up shoes and a teeny tiny dog – played huge part in their engagament session. Stay tuned for their gorgeous ‘retro Italian’ themed wedding next!
