Roni & Dave are currently on their honeymoon but I had to give them a quick appearance on Rock n Roll Bride – check out her awesome vintage brooch bouquet! I’ve been noticing a lot of brides have been forgoing real blooms of late, in favour of some more original, kooky ideas (think candy, feather, cotton, dried flowers, vintage jewellery and everything in between) Aren’t these gorgeous?

Roni scoured antique stores in the run up to their wedding and payed anywhere from $3 – $12 for each brooch and constructed the bouquet themselves. I understand their wedding and reception was a bit of a diy fest. too so I’m hoping to share it with you when they couple return.

This beautiful Valentine’s day/love letter themed shoot was sent to me by Alice Hu and I’m afriad I couldn’t wait until February 14th to share it with you. The shoot was put together for Fantasy Floral Designs. Amanda Heer is the original creator of the vintage brooch bouquet and for this shoot she created another keepsake bouquet called “Love Letter”.  The ‘flowers’ were made from vintage diaries and included photographs of loved ones to add another personal touch.  The invitations in this shoot were provided by Papeterie Store.

Here we go then my pretties, which one of you lovely ladies is the luck winner of the custom brooch by Sana of WristieLove - designed especially to fit your wedding theme?

I thought long as hard about this, but my favourite entry, and the winner is….

Bowie Bride who said:
Hands down fave: The Mini-Pearl Clockhand Brooch. We’re having a vintage-y, David Bowie-inspired, handmade decor, homemade beer, non-gender-specific bridal party, with my sister playing electric guitar as we float down the ol’ aisle, kinda wedding. We’re not really tied down to color – just a bunch of pastels mixed with black, red, peach, and off-white. We want it to look homemade and antique-y, so this brooch would be a fantastic addition. i would use it to pin on my bouquet – i am making my bouquet from scratch out of pins, brooches, handmade t-shirt flowers, newspaper, and whatever else ‘pretty’ i can find. This brooch is stunning and I would be honored to receive it.

Congrats! Sana will be in touch to get all the details to make your prize perfect. I can’t wait to see the result!

Don’t forget, the Love Me Do Photography contest is still very much open. Who wouldn’t want free wedding photography!?

Let me introduce you to WristieLove, an online store selling beautiful organic, vintage or repurposed jewellery pieces that have that mix of intrigue and curious design down to a tee. Owner Sana describes her little shop as Your source for Wedding & Everyday Casual Pretty which perfectly sums up her ethos. This lass from California has always been put on edge by over-formality and she’s right you know, I wouldn’t limited these pieces to just your wedding day – in fact I wish I could wear one everyday!

I think anyone can be well dressed and look ‘pretty’ if they OWN their style, casual or not. She told me I specialize in one of a kind accessories and metalwork. This includes etched copper tags, corsages, brooches and bags that feature curious and sometimes quirky design elements. All of my pieces are hand crafted incorporating organic, vintage (eco in its original form) or repurposed materials.

Each piece is even shipped in cute recycled boxes…swoon!

But that’s not all – contest alert! Sana will work with the lucky reader to style a custom clockhand brooch specifically designed for the winner and based on their very own wedding! How awesome is that?! To enter, check out her Etsy store and pick your favourite clockhand brooch. Then comment below saying which is your favourite plus your wedding theme, colour scheme and ideas.

I can do one of a kind custom work based on any piece of mine that they see. It is like adding a hem to your favorite pair of pants for a better fit. And it allows my shoppers to incorporate any color or material they like.

So what are you waiting for? Let’s see those comments. You have until Thursday 15th October to get your entries in and the winner will be announced on Friday 16th.

Oh how lucky we are – two UK weddings in one day! I’m hoping this means that Blighty (thats’ slang from Britian for all my America readers) may be catching up to our American cousins slowly but surely on the old rock n roll weddings front.

Rock n Roll Bride readers Emma & Ian actually found their photographer Philip Allen through a post on this humble blog.  Phil told me the whole story:
