Suzie wanted a bridal shoot to commemorate her 6 year wedding anniversary. Don’t you just love the muted tones and bright pops of colour. The British countryside makes for the perfect backdrop too.

I really really love doing my Under the Spotlight interviews as it’s great to talk about the genius behind the lens for once. Today, I’m excited to share with you Shelly of Toast of Leeds - a fabulous photographer from – you guessed it – Leeds, who blew me away with her recent Punk Bride shoot. Enjoy!

Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Shelly Mantovani from Toast of Leeds. I shoot people.

Where are you based and what cities/countries are you available to for work in?
I’m based in Yorkshire but don’t let that put you off! I love to get on a plane or a train, it forces me to read books I keep buying and never get round to finishing.

This beeeautiful family/bridal shoot was submitted to me by the bride, Kim, a few months ago and I have been eagerly awaiting the images from photographer Natalie for what feels like an age! I was so excited when they arrived that I couldn’t wait to get them up. You’ll see why! This gorgeous family had a shoot that would not only remind them of their wedding day, but that encompassed them as a unit

“My inspiration, and Kim’s inspiration connected immediately!” Natalie tells me “It’s not that I “try” to be different,.. it just happens! I am attracted to art, not tradition. I am a freelance artist besides a photographer, so when thoughts/visions and poses come into my mind… I have to draw them out! I have been asked how I think of my poses when I shoot… and I really don’t know how to answer it. The thoughts come to me randomly. Driving, or just sitting at home working. Kim is so creative and artistic herself, but the two of us together, created so much style! Kim let me be creative, and completely trusted me to do whatever I wanted.”

I trust you had a good Christmas and Santa was nice to you? Down my chimney fell a swanky new 18.5″ wide screen monitor (droooool) a Fuji Instax, a PINK Vivienne Westwood bracelet and an ‘eco cup’. These are my favouritest presents. Santa obviously knows me very well – that I am a total blogging and photography geek, that Vivienne Westwood makes me happy and that I drink way too much coffee! I am muchly looking forward to playing with all my new toys and will certainly be scanning in some of my Instax shots soon. Was Santa just as good to you?

Anyway, it’s nice to have you back, it’s been lonely without you dear reader. Although I am going to keep blogging between now and new year, the posts maybe a bit sparcer than usual. I’ll still be here, plugging along though, so please don’t hesitate to still get in touch if you need too.

The winter submissions have poured in over the festive period so I’m going to get right back into it with this snowy graveyard shoot from Jeffrey Chan Tin. Bridal shoots in graveyards always seem to provoke some kind of controversy (who knows!?) but how can anybody argue that these images aren’t ridiculously stunning? I really do love the snow…
