Bohemian Festival Wedding with Entertainment A-Plenty: Chris & Emmy

September 12, 2014

Chris and Emmy were married early in the day, so they wanted to lay on lots of entertainment for their guests. "We wanted a day that was relaxed, fun and family-friendly", wrote the bride. "We had our humanist hand fasting ceremony at 10:30 in the morning, so we wanted to make sure there was plenty for our guests to do throughout the day. We go to a lot of festivals and run a dance tent with my family called the Griffin Tent, so we used that as a starting point, using the marquee and having a pub quiz and live bands in the afternoon. The river running through Loudwater Farm is the same river we both played in as children (we've known each other since we were 11!), so we had fishing nets and wellies for everyone to paddle. We added archery, circus toys, dreamcatcher making and an art and crafts den, and finished up with a silent disco."

"So many wonderful friends helped make things from decorations, DJ, photographer, cakes, and even marquee, to really give our wedding a handmade feel."

"Our wedding theme was laid back, bohemian, vibrant and eclectic", explained the bride. "Which truly reflected Jason and I. We really didn't stick to the traditional formalities when planning our wedding but instead we choose to personalize our day in a way that we felt most comfortable with."

Kristin and Eric were married on 28th December and so they wanted their wedding to have a festive, gilded vibe. They day was held at 1927 Events, a historic space in Seattle. "The time of year really guided our choices", wrote the bride. "We always wanted a wedding close to the holidays, so we really went for a romantic cocktail and dinner party vibe rather than a wedding. We wanted it to feel really informal instead of the traditional agenda burdened wedding."

Modern Bohemian Wedding at The Flaming Lips Art Gallery: Bryan & Brittany

March 20, 2014

Bryan and Brittany live in New York but were married in Oklahoma where most of their friends and family still live. They'd planned a very different wedding originally, wanting an all outdoor affair, but, just five weeks before the big day they realised it just wasn't going to work and they had to find another venue. Panic stations! Luckily, they came across The Womb art gallery, owned by Wayne Coyne, lead singer of The Flaming Lips. They asked him if he'd consider letting them have their wedding there, which he not only agreed to but he came along and partied with them too! Now that, my friends, is pure Rock n Roll.
