A Hollywood Love Story

Kat

September 27, 2009

Ok so I was going to attempt to wait until mid nest week for the blogging of these little beauties but hell, I'm waaay too impatient. Ermm...wow. My mind is officially blown. Photographer and rock n roll sponsor, Katja Mukhina sent me these the other day after I saw a sneak peek on her flickr stream and begged her to send the rest to me as soon as they were ready! This 'Love Story' shoot was shot and conceived without the use of photo shop. The images behind the couple are all rear projections - super vintage Hollywood cinema stylee. I can not get over these....lordy lord they are so beeeautiful. Dear all my American readers... Katja will be travelling to The States In October and staying until November. She would love to shoot some American couples in this time and I know you would love to be immortalised so glamorously. So what are you waiting for? Drop her an email already! Thank you Katja...eeeek wonderful! Credit: Katja Mukhina

Celebration of Love

Kat

September 9, 2009

I apologise for my slight absence yesterday, I had a super busy day planning new ventures (eeek exciting!). I hope all my American readers had a fabulous Labor Day weekend but it has been rather lonely in Blog-land this past few days and I am glad you are all back! Let's get this show on the road shall we - as always, way too much gorgeousness to share today! Amber & Kwame has a stunningly simple and personal backyard wedding in Sidney just outside of Victoria BC. Their day was not about the bouquet and rings, but a calebration of their love and a big old reunion for all their friends and family. Thanks to Helene for these beautiful images - so much happiness! Avant-Garde

Kat

Texan born, UK based photographer Tami Curtis has a style like no one else I've seen. The techniques used give each image a distressed feel like they literally are images from the 1920's but with a real avant-garde feel. This style of photography wouldn't be everyone's choice for their wedding album but it's a style I can't help but be drawn to. Be sure to take the time to check out Tami's blog, Pulp Fiction, for more vintage gorgeousness! Thanks to Tami for sending me Eve's gorgeous bridal session Credit: Tami Curtis/Jane's Attic

The Tiny Bride

Kat

I literally adore photographer Sarah Pukin's way of wording these images. I really can not compete. Enjoy this and enjoy these gorgeous images! The Tiny Bride. Once upon a time there was a girl who met a boy. The boy was in a band - when he saw the girl his heart grew and he knew she was the one. The girl gazed up at him and thought “could this be love at first sight?” As the boy came closer the girl reached her hand out - as he grabbed it they both knew that they were soul mates. They fell deeply in love. As time passed the boy and the girl got married and here are a few pages of their story. Thanks Sarah. You rock! Credit: Sarah Pukin Photography

A Day In The Life

Kat

August 20, 2009

As soon as these images landed in my inbox early this morning I was desperate to blog them right away! First off the couple are ridiculously beautiful (but that, of course, goes without saying), secondly I have never seen such a gorgeous set of images where it is just the two of them, no barriers, no props, just the newlyweds being themselves. In fact I'm not even sure I've ever seen an 'in bed' style shoot used as part of a day after session. I love it. The photographs are so intimate and so personal yet done in such as way that there is no element of sleaze...I don't even feel voyeuristic looking at them They really are just art. Art and love. We then move onto the bulk of the shoot, where living in Odessa, Texas (a place where there is apparently 'nothing ') doesn't seem to have made these images anything less than breathtaking. The train, the graffiti, the river, the tree. The gorgeously intimate style continues only this time with a back drop that tantalises the senses all by itself. If this isn't enough for you, then be sure to check out the couple's wedding too! A huge thank you to Chelsea for sending me these exclusive shots (oh yes, exclusives make me happy!) Retro Italy Wedding

Kat

August 3, 2009

I'm well aware it's very unlike me to blog so little on a Monday but I have been a bit of a busy bee today. Please forgive me and fret not because Janel & Jim's 'retro italian' wedding is here y'all! (I don't know where that 'y'all' came from either) The couple continued to rock their awesome kitch/rockabilly style whist still managing to pull of a pretty damn elegant wedding. The dog was of course there being his cutie-pie self and the styling was second to none. From the vintage vespas (again) to the retro suitcase, from the kinky killer heels to the merrygoround - this wedding is one of pure rock n roll class.
