Music, tattoos and 40′s/50′s rockabilly provided the inspiration for Laura & Scott’s gorgeous wedding. Laura looked every bit the rockabilly queen in her Avalon from Dolly Couture skirt and top, teamed with lace gloves from ASOS and leopard print shoes from Mary Jane Shoes which were a bargain at just £15!

The tables were named after all their favourite rock bands – Kiss, Whitesnake, Guns n Roses, Alice Cooper, Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Van Halen and the top table was The Ronnie James Dio table. For a really personal and fun touch their favours were mini cupcake lip glosses for the girls and polystyrene gliders for the boys. They also had dishes of haribo rings and hearts on each table (yum!)

The couple diy’ed all their stationary - in a vintage tattoo style. The boy’s place names had flaming dice and the girl’s had pink nautical stars. They made the table planner with a big piece of MDF covered in a tattoo print fabric from Etsy. They had friend make the cake in the same tattoo theme.

“I walked down the aisle to Tom Petty – Here Comes My Girl. We signed register to Kiss – I Want You and Stevie Wonder – Signed, Sealed, Delivered and we both walked out to Gonna Fly Now from Rocky. First dance was Pulp – Something Changed, closely followed by Kiss – Lovegun” Laura concluded. “We’re both huge classic rock fans and I’ve always been a fan of 40′s/50′s style. We’re both geeks at heart. I’m not against any traditional weddings but we knew it wasn’t for us. We both thought our wedding day should be about our love for each other and that love includes all the things that make us who we are.”

Finally, Laura and her bridesmaids performed ”Kiss – I Was Made For Loving You” – a dance routine that they had perfectedon the hen do (bachelorette party) Be sure to check out the video after the ‘jump’

Carrie’s wedding day portraits make me so excited I could scream. Isn’t she just the most gorgeous Rock n Roll chick ever? “My entire ensemble was inspired by old Hollywood glamor and 1930′s black & white films, very Jean Harlow” Carrie told me “My hair and make-up was done by me and I kept it very straight, classic and the make-up reminiscent of the silent era. I grew up watching nothing but silent films, old horror movies and classic film noir. I wanted to appear timeless and not dated, I think I achieved my vision and surpassed even my own expectations.”

Carrie’s gorgeous ruffled dress came from “The Dresser” in downtown Fullerton and was by Pattis, the style was called “Diore”. “Originally it was $1850, but I got it on sale for a trunk show promo for 15% off. The dress was made from scratch in Italy. At the time I was shopping for the dress, I had a shaved head. The sales lady then she pulled the dress for me said “The girl with the blonde shaved head and tattoos would look perfect in this dress” the second I tried it on…I knew it was the one.” She chose a veil from www.birdcageveils.com which cost her just $59 and her shoes came from “The Dresser” too. The bracelet she wore was an heirloom of her husband’s great grandmother and was actually originally a necklace. The gorgeous brooches on the bouquets (supplied by Kari Strand at Lake Elsinore Florist) were from Macy’s and old cost about $8 each (reduced from $30!) The bridesmaids also wore dresses from Macy’s.

The Vintage Bride

I wanted to share a few images of Caitlin on her wedding day as I think she looked every bit the simple vintage beauty.

We had an intimate wedding with the whole family bringing it together from the dress, the caterer and all the details in the house
for the reception. I chose the vintage look because it not only totally works with my own personal style, it is a classic look that will never grow old. I didn’t want to look back 20 years from now and say “What was I thinking?!” Even now if you look at pictures from the ’40′s and ’50′s, you can only say how beautiful and glamorous everyone and everything looked.

You know what, I was supposed to wait until tomorrow to share these but I just couldn’t. It was like having to keep a secret and I’m no good at keeping secrets!  I’m sure many of you have been waiting with baited breath to see these – hell, I know I have been dying to get these out! It’s worth the wait though I assure you.

Carly & James tied the knot at a winery in Sanger, CA. Her dress was an authentic vintage tutu style dress and feathery veil and James didn’t even want to shave on the day – he rocked it though right!? So without further ado…prepare to be blown away by greatness. A Rock n Roll Bride classic if ever I’ve seen one.
