Maura & John’s slightly damp, slightly vintage and more than slightly gorgeous engagement session is totally inspiring! I love how they incorporated the things they love into the shoot – they collect old schwinn bikes, love going for bike rides and are crazy about all things vintage/retro/antique so they used some antique china for a mini picnic setting. Cuteness.

Caroline & Connor’s wedding had a distinctly Victorian/Steampunk vibe. As well as the bridal party, all the guests really got into the spirit and dressed up for the occasion in vintage dresses and attire which was practically all put together by the amazing Trish Roush at House of Nines Design. Not only did she help out the guests with their outfits, but she dressed the bride and groom – including making those incredible hats (plus, I just have to add, how incredible is Connor’s moustache?!)
Pretty much everything about this wedding was unique and found at random vintage/thrift stores. The bride found her dress online (purchased from an independent seller not from a store I’m afraid) which was no mean feat as most genuine vintage dresses are teeny tiny! However with some clever corsetry Caroline looked every bit the Victorian princess.

Carley & Graham wanted a vintage theme for their engagement session. Now I know we hear the term ‘vintage’ thrown all over blog-land like it’s going out of fashion, but I really do love the feel to these (note: if anyone can think of another word to describe ‘vintage’ please let me know – I’m kinda getting sick of writing it!) But anyway, that’s besides the point – Carley & Graham’s session does have a beautifully authentic vintage aesthetic to it…and for that I love it!
Carley put so much heart and soul into their shoot and she brought along a whole bunch of creative things to incorporate. Touches like her and Graham’s vintage-style bikes (so COOL!) and her favourite camera that she got at a second hand store for only $15! Both Carley and Graham also put alot of thought into their outfits which really added to the over all vibe of the session and made it even more perfectly…well…vintage.

Le. Squeeeeeeal!
I have so much to say about this awesome engagement shoot that I almost don’t know where to start…maybe the beginning? Photographer Thomas has pretty much hit the jackpot with Bobbi & Shelby – gorgeous, cool, tattooed, individual, up for it – what more could you want?
The couple came up with the ideas for this shoot themselves starting with a seedy motel scene, the setting is right out of a 70′s road trip movie complete with peeling paint, a broken television and retro signage. They then headed out, firstly to a junkyard and then to a field where they lay around looking gorgeous and had some fun on a bike…with a pinata (of course!)
Following this came the grand finale. Inspired by the now iconic Tanja Lippert ‘Chicken and the Naked Chick’ engagement shoot, Shelby donned a giant purple monkey suit and Bobbi well..got naked! Love love love….I just adore these.

There are a select few UK photographers that I truly love and I think Pippa Mackenzie may be joining that group. I fell in love with her relaxed, documentary inspired style and couldn’t wait to share this rockin’ Brighton engagement session with you. “Natalie & James live in Surrey, and often hang out in Brighton” Pippa told me. ”They are young, quirky and very successful property developers. They are such a cool, hip and fun loving couple and we wanted to really capture their characters in their e-Shoot. They had a few costume changes for the shoot to contrast the beach shots with classy rock n roll amongst the Brighton Lanes. We thought the edgy surroundings of Brighton really complimented their characters.”
You can check out Pippa & Ian’s ‘At Work’ video which includes a little film around this actual shoot right here. I love it! Damn it..now that’s another photographer on my list that I want to be shot by!

Hello and welcome to my little blog. My name is Kat Williams aka the Rock n Roll Bride and my aim is to provide a little haven of kick ass weddingness in a cookie cutter, pastel and often puke-worthy wedding world. If you’ve ever picked up a bridal magazine and felt queasy or trawled the internet and felt disheartened by what you didn’t find well, my friend, you are in the right place!
