Alissa & Rich send me their gorgeous engagements yesterday and with some vintage fashion like this how could I refuse a little post, in fact Alissa’s green dress was only $30..now that makes me jealous!
It seemed that their photographer, Laura Greer loved this couple and this shoot just as much as me…from her blog:
This shoot is one of my FAVORITE shoots that I have done in a
while…what I loved about it was the spontaneity and what Alissa and
Rich each brought to the shoot. They told me that they were NOT beach
people, so we figured we’d wing it in Hollywood. He shows up in a
slick suit; She brings colorful balloons and cute sun dresses and
other than that we had ZERO plan, except to meet at the Arclight in
Hollywood. It was SUCH an adventure that involved running through
alleys and halfway houses trying to find access to areas to shoot and
just discovering little oasises of cool colors and textures amidst a
concrete jungle filled with some seriously CRAZY people. The funny
thing was that we TOTALLY BECAME the “crazy people”, especially when
I scaled a 10 foot fence in broad daylight…all for the sake of that
“perfect shot”. I have a hurt ankle too from soccer, so it was a bit
of a feat for me…but CHECK OUT the crazy life size television set that
we found in a locked up parking lot in Hollywood! Once we saw it we
were determined to find a way to get in there…And we did! I am all
about finding crazy colors and textures…Just look at what you can get
even in one of the ugliest areas of town!…but it also helps to have a
bride who is an actress and a groom that takes Tae Kwon DO…I mean
SERIOUSLY! You two rock!”
Hey no fair…I wanna strut my stuff inside a huge fake telly too!

I’m pretty sure I’m Erica Berger’s biggest flickr stream stalker. I go on there about twice a day…you know, just in case…and boy am I glad I do. Check out these beyond awesome photographs, from a couple of her recent shoots…the lighting is absolutely second to none.

I may well sound like a broken record but I don’t really care…I really really love photo shoots with balloons. You might say I was even a wee bit obsessed with them.
Aaaah Bonnie I love you!

Did you ever hear
Of the frolic fairies dear?
They’re a blessed little race,
Peeping up in fancy’s face,
In the valley, on the hill,
By the fountain and the rill;
Laughing out between the leaves
That the loving summer weaves.

I am really enjoying posting non-wedding specific inspiration right now. You can get wedding ideas from anywhere and everywhere. Although this shoot is not wedding related, wouldn’t it be amazing to have a photo shoot like this of you and your partner (or your Bridesmaids!)
A little bit gloomy, little bit gothic… a lot fun, sultry and stylish! These make me want to go play in a forest, dress up in tutu’s and cause some general mischief.

Did you see this to-die-for-gorgeous wedding and photo shoot on Green Wedding Shoes yesterday? Well just in case…
The simply coloured scenery makes the incidental bright colours of the balloons and Joe’s tie really pop! I am crazy about these…balloons make any photo shoot look fabulous!

Does anybody love balloons in engagements as much as I do? I don’t actually think it is possible!
I am hopefully going to be doing a new photo shoot soon and omg there will be balloons (the photographer doesn’t know this yet hehe!)
I have recently discovered this flickr group, her balloon happiness..join it and bring some balloony smiles into your life.
