Near the end of last year, my friend Julia Boggio asked me if I’d like to model for her new Vintage Boudoir series and well, put it this way, she didn’t have to ask me twice – I quite literally jumped at the chance! Would I like to go and play dress up, get my hair and make up done and then have some amazing photographs to look at for the rest of my life? Erm..YES!
I have been a fan of Julia’s ever since I first discovered her a few years ago on You Tube and I have been lucky enough to share many of her weddings with you in the past. She is universally considered one of the top wedding photographers in the UK, but it’s great to see that her talent shines equally in the studio. With her team of experts behind her and props a-plenty the results are a guaranteed success!
Jill & Andrew knew they wanted an Art Deco style wedding as soon as they got engaged. Jill in particular really looked the part in her Priscilla of Boston dress, gorgeous custom birdcage veil from Unveiled Bridal Designs, stunning necklace by Ranjana Khan and customised J Crew shoes.
Jill told me all about their day: Andrew and I both love the Art Deco period of art, fashion and music. From the first moment he proposed with an estate amethyst rose gold ring from the 1940s (Louisiana), we knew our wedding would be vintage inspired. We love black and ivory and used these colors to create our classic wedding story. Peacock feathers, swing music, and birdcage veils for the belles of the bride all set the stage for our soiree. We fell in love with Savannah because of the ornate iron work, stunning mansions, Southern & European charm and historic standing. Savannah itself represents both of our roots, myself being from Georgia, and Andrew from England. The Mansion provided the perfect backdrop. Both being foodies, we chose tiers of artisan cheese to create our wedding cake from Murray’s in New York City.
This gorgeous little film by Travis has got that vintage Parisian chic thing down to a tee and I absolutely adore it. This couple make me want to dress up in style and dance in the street with my Gareth.
Hurrah! Part two of Caroline Ghetes’ amazing vintage inspired bridal sessions is live! This second installment has a much more modern twist to it as Caroline wanted to show how vintage fashion can work in super modern, urban suroundings. She scoured Etsy for the majority of the gorgeous pieces to go in this shoot. The ever so popular 50′s style tea dress was from ghmarketplace, the sparkly tulle veil was handmade with vintage material from the 1940′s by Liaison, the pink and the peacock hairpieces were by Chamberry Cherry and finally the dramatic bouquet was actually made by Caroline herself.
Photographer Caroline Ghetes has just launched a gorgeous new series of bridal shoots in 3 different, and equally fabulous styles. First up this 1940′s aviation inspired set with a modern twist. Her gorgeous dress was made by Etsy seller Lorimarsha.
