Flash Mob Wedding in the South of France

Flash Mob Wedding in the South of France (10)

Emilie and Vincent met when working in Hong Kong. They wanted their wedding to be fun, quirky and a mix of all the things they like. They didn’t choose a specific theme but focused on gold pineapples, skulls, star wars and street art and wanted their wedding to blend fun with tradition. The bride found her incredible dip-dyed dress in China when she was there on her hen do!

They were married in Emilie’s family home, which was built by her grandparents. “They are no longer with us and I thought it was a good way to honour them”, said the bride. “When I proposed this idea to my mother she was so enthusiastic. This house means so much to my family and is filled with so many good memories. It’s also in the South of France so was perfect for an outdoor wedding!”

Halloween Harvest Festival Wedding

Halloween Harvest Festival Wedding (36)

Tara and Rob were married in October and themed their day around an autumnal Halloween harvest festival. The date was particularly important as it’s when they met in 2007, and also when they got engaged in 2015. They both love Halloween, and the beginning of autumn when the colours start to change.

“We wanted our wedding to be a true representation of us and not at all generic”, Tara said. “I didn’t want to wear a traditional wedding dress, we had a zombie cake topper (which I saw on Rock n Roll Bride) and my sister, who was my bridesmaid, gave a speech to even up the male heavy speeches!”

Nautical Punk Rock Festival Wedding

Jess and Dan were married in a big top tent, in a field in Nympsfield, Gloucestershire. Their wedding theme was ‘rockabilly ska-punk festival’ as they were inspired by their love of punk-rock, 50s style, Polaroid photography, leopard print, tattoo culture, music and festivals.

In tattoo culture an anchor means ‘something or a person that grounds you’ so their stationery was also based upon this idea, and their wedding rings had anchors printed on them. For a festival name they decided on ‘Tie The Knot Festival’ which linked their festival idea with the nautical feel from the anchor.

“We really went to town with the punk rock and festival elements by making line-up posters, stage time sheets and having security at the entrance to the field dishing out wristbands to guests as they arrived,” explained Jess. “We also had a festival logo designed which, as well as being on all the wedding stationery and the website, was made into patches by a friend and sewn onto denim jackets for me and Dan to wear later in the evening. We even had a version of it tattooed on our wrists in the run up to the wedding! We really focused on ‘brand consistency’ to help make it seem like a real festival and drum up excitement for our guests in the lead up.”

Hipster Inspired Elopement Shoot

Melbourne Elopement Shoot-Maria Luise Bauer Photography-100

This stunning elopement shoot took place in Melbourne and was shot and organised by German photographer Maria Luise Bauer.

“We used a gown from Georgia Young“, she said. “I totally love her work and always wanted to shoot with her dresses so I sent her an email a few days before flying to Melbourne, asking if we could meet up and if I maybe could shoot a little inspiration with one of her gowns. And she said yes!”

“This shoot was very spontaneous. I wanted to do something hipster-ish, and to be inspired by an elopement in the city. I wanted it to see free and non-traditional. I put together the flowers myself and kept them basic. I wanted to show that if you’re having a low budget wedding you can just do things yourself.”

Keri and Sean wanted a wedding theme that included dinosaurs, gnomes, Harry Potter and zombies! They hoped the day would be full of the things they like, to reflect themselves, and to be super relaxed and a whole lot of fun!

However, they had a slightly rocky start to the day! “I was late to the ceremony because the wheel fell off the bridal car, rolled across the road and landed at the side of the river!” laughed Keri. “Thankfully there were no causalities! We then jumped into the VW Campervan and made our way to the venue – 40 minutes late!”

Once Upon a Dream: Bohemian Woodland Fairytale Wedding

Once Upon a Dream Bohemian Woodland Fairytale Wedding (37)

Vita and Michailas described their wedding theme as ‘a violet haze, bohemian, woodland fairytale’. They wanted their wedding to be very intimate and small, but magical. They focused on having lots of colours and flowers with a bit of glitz and copper details. Overall they wanted their wedding to be inspired by themselves and things they both love.

The couple’s favourite part of the day was their ceremony. “It was truly magical,” said Vita, “I think our wedding ceremony was the most emotional moment of my entire life! I don’t think there was ever a time when I felt so many emotions at once. It was wonderful, overwhelming and simply amazing. We had great musicians playing the music in the middle of the woods, I walked down the aisle to Once Upon a Dream from the Sleeping Beauty and it truly felt like a woodland fairy tale. The smell of the rose petal confetti was magical, my grandma had picked it herself from wild roses, and it felt magical to be showered in it!”
