Bronwyn-Sara and Jesse were married at Red River Valley in Tennessee. “Tradition is the last thing that describes what Jesse and I wanted”, the bride began. “We drove my mother-in law-crazy with our ideas. We threw tradition to the side and did our own thing with our thrift store purchases and last minute planning!”

The bride bought her dress on Craigslist, wore no shoes (just like most of the wedding party) and did her own make up. Her bridesmaids were in various vintage style dresses bought from places like David’s Bridal, Etsy and thrift stores!

“We handmade most everything from the canoe of homemade jarred beer to the curtains, the bouquets, the gifts, most of décor”, she continued. “We spent countless hours creating the vision I had with help from my Mom and my bridesmaids.”

The best part of the day for the couple was the ceremony. “When we said I do it felt like we were somewhere else – it was really neat”, she explained. “We also loved staring at each other posing and laughing with our photographer and letting go of 100 lanterns in the evening. It was pretty spectacular. The whole wedding was incredibly carefree and laid back. None of us wore shoes because we wanted to just feel the earth.”

“Keep things simple”, she advises other couples. “Relish the moment and don’t get lost in the chaos. It’s most likely going to be far better then you ever anticipated anyway. We were sweating because a wedding party of 37 was madness at first, but it ended up beautiful and exactly as it should be.”
