This week I’ve been seriously considering doing a juice cleanse. Now I’m not one for fad diets and I generally hate talking about anything to do with weight loss but – EUGH – I don’t half feel in desperate need of a detox at the moment. I blame Bri but I think I’m going to see how she gets on before I go into it wholeheartedly! Have you ever done a juice cleanse? What kind of results did you see/feel?
Well apart from thinking about getting my body healthy (that’s half way there right?!) I’ve also been reading a load of things which I hope will help get my business in tip top shape. There seems to be a lot online this week about facing burn-out and how to avoid putting things off… I guess it’s not just me then!

As always, I’d love to hear about any links you’ve loved this week. Hit me up in the comments. And if I don’t see you beforehand, have a fantastic weekend!

I did a month-long juice fast; it was great! You will be surprised at how much energy you will have. A warning, though: the first few days are a bitch. It’s best to ease into doing all juicing.
A good motivator for a lot of people was the documentary, “Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead.” It’s on Netflix.
Best of luck!
I did a brief version of the Lemon Detox diet. It was a tricky time in my life and normally I would have dealt with this by some fairly major emotional eating. I decided to try something different, and it was great. As above, it was hard going initially, and I did struggle with a lack of energy, but I was lucky enough to do it at a fabulous hotel in conjunction with a spa package!
In my case, I’ve previously cut out caffeine (now re-introduced!) and knew that the initial withdrawal from this is shocking, so I am fairly sure that this is a major factor in feeling awful at the start of any fast.
Rather than fruit/veg/juices, you drink a special concoction mixed up hot with lemons and a touch of cayenne pepper. It actually tasted really lovely, and you just drink it throughout the day whenever you fancy. I’d definitely do it again. I lost about 4lbs in 3 days (would have been more for others I think, but there wasn’t much of me to start with!) and felt absolutely brilliant afterwards.
I had to be really careful re-introducing food though – I had a packet of Smarties on the way home and the sugar rush made me feel really drunk! It really shocked me and I think much more carefully about what I eat now.
Enjoy!
Do it!!! It’s SO good for you! I started with a cleanse that included 2 LARGE juices a day (lots of greens) accompanied by 1 healthy meal/salad at the end of the day. That way I wouldn’t be in bed feeling starved all night.
If you can do that for a few days, try upping the juices to 3 large glasses a day and see how you feel.
