A Vintage Chic Jersey Wedding: Dawn & Terry

February 27, 2012

This sweet and elegant vintage-inspired wedding caught my eye when it landed in my inbox…or more specifically the gorgeous bride did. How beautiful?! Her dress is just perfection and her hair makes me want dreadlocks!

Dawn & Terry’s wedding was held in Jersey, a small island between the UK and France, where Dawn was born. 70 of the couple’s friends and family made the trip their to celebrate their big day.

“The wedding was held at the stunning Chateau Vermont for an afternoon tea party”, wedding photographer Lorna of Story Wedding Photography told me. “All the mismatched tea cups, plates, glasses and candelabras had been collected over the year at various boot sales to give a very unique and chic feel to the afternoon.”

The bride wore a stunner of a dress, a genuine 1950s gown, “Dawn was like a living doll in her 50s lace tiered vintage gown, and Terry was the epitome of a cool in his three piece by Terence Trout, any photographer’s dream! Their ceremony was held in a little chapel in the chateau grounds and as they had been together for 10 years before tying the knot, the mood was warm and relaxed. After some very playful (in)formal shots, everybody sat down to bubbly and cakes, and a brilliant rendition of ‘Isn’t She Lovely’ by Dawn’s Dad.”

Gorgeous! Thank you to Dawn & Terry and their photographer Lorna for sharing,
