A Super Sweet Backyard Bash: Melinda & Jesse

October 19, 2011 in Wedding | Written by

Melinda & Jesse’s backyard wedding can only be described as ‘super sweet’ I feel, because that’s what it was – a super sweet wedding filled with love and family.

The wedding was held in the groom’s parent’s back garden and the bride made everything herself from the invites to the horseshoe seating cards, the boutonnieres to her bouquet (the flowers of which were picked from the garden), the hand-drawn table numbers to the centerpieces.

Although Melinda had a broken foot, a fantastic time was had by all and that certainly didn’t stop them rounding off the evening with a good old fashion boogie with their DJ Josh Styles from the band The Stalkers. CUTE.

Thank you to Melinda & Jesse and their photographer Khaki for sharing these today.

I downloaded iCloud to my iPad and now the rocknroll bride site looks off! What did I do wrong?! :(

It’s only with the rocknroll bride website and I’m devastated because I love it! No matter, this gorgeous blog is pure wedding heaven. I’ll persevere :)

Thanks everyone! I made the stationary myself! I painted my images, scanned and edited in photoshop. I printed and cut every RSVP, invite and envelope liner. Between a friend and myself we tied bows and glued them to the RSVP’s I made. I also hand wrote all of the addresses. I really wanted to be in control of all the aesthetics of the wedding. In total, I hand carved custom stamps for the favor/seating tags, sewed over 120 yards of bunting, hand drew my table numbers, made a piñata from scratch (that we put lotto tickets in), made the backdrop flower vines, sewed the hearts for our guest book an sewed the hearts (which matched our bunting), cut and arranged all the flowers (grown on my in-laws property), made boutineers and lastly my bouquet. It was a lot of work but totally worth it to make everything my own. I have to thank my in-laws most of all for being such a huge support and help throughout the whole process. We couldn’t have made this wedding happen without them. Also, everyone will be glad to know that I am no longer in my cast! If anyone wants to talk about custom stationary, they can contact me at melindamariejames@gmail.com
