Buddy Holly & Mother Nature

March 1, 2010

Amy & Nick’s wonderful South Austin wedding had a distinct and very individual theme – perfect for them! Big fans of Buddy Holly and late 50’s/early 60’s music, it was important to them to really have that as a big part of their wedding. Amy walked down the aisle to an acoustic version of Every Day played live by a friend on the guitar. Nick waited to marry his sweetheart decked out in a grey suit, Buddy Holly glasses and his favorite pair of Converse. Amy wore a dress by Dolly Couture which was perfectly accented by a Magnolia flower created by Amy Barber of Sweettooth Bags.

For the overall feel of the day, the couple wanted to pay homage to Mother Nature. The centerpieces were kale and curly willow creations accented by artichokes and fall gourds. Dried bamboo, fresh fruit and vegetables adorned the venue.
An ice cream bar (provided by Amy’s Ice Creams) with liquor flavors and decorated with vintage 45’s gave the guests a unique treat.
The 1930’s roadster send off car, rebuilt by the groom just for the day, perfectly rounded off the day.
Thanks to Amy, Nick, Nessa and wedding planner Jessica for sharing this fabulous day with us
